On the positive side, it has generated jobs in sectors such as BPO and improved access to healthcare and technology. These effects emphasize the importance of policies that safeguard local industries and promote economic and food stability.

It has made more food and health care available, but it also creates problems like job loss in some industries, pollution, and reliance on imported goods. The fast spread of new ideas and products can sometimes harm local traditions. While globalization offers many benefits, it also increases risks for the environment, food security, and health.

Makalintal - For me, the effect of globalization in the Philippines is a lot, but to generalize it, on the positive side, it helps one country in different aspects, economical by trading through importing and exporting, technological by the use of smartphones and powerful computers with the help of fiber optics internet so that we can communicate easily, we also rely on machines to produce goods and services. On the other hand, the negative effects of globalization in the Philippines are going to be the rise of unemployment and poverty rates because a lot of manual jobs are replaced by automation, not a lot of people has the purchasing power for smartphones and monthly subscription for internet connection. People below the poverty rate would rather buy food than other things.

However, it has also led to challenges such as environmental degradation, income inequality, and dependence on remittances from overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). While globalization has opened up markets, it has also exposed the country to global economic fluctuations.

"Sustainable development"

Berdos- GlobalizationIt has brought both opportunities and challenges, shaping our economy, society, and environment. Globalization has opened up new markets for Philippine products, attracting foreign investments, and creating jobs and the exchange of cultures has enriched our understanding of the world and fostered global connections. However, the benefits of globalization have not been evenly distributed. The rapid industrialization and economic growth have come at a significant cost to our environment. Pollution, deforestation, and resource depletion have become pressing concerns, threatening our natural heritage and the well-being of future generations. Globalization can worsen existing social inequalities. While some sectors and regions have thrived, others have been left behind, leading to disparities in income, education, and access to opportunities.

To ensure that globalization benefits the Philippines sustainably, it is imperative to address these challenges and promote policies that prioritize environmental protection, social equity, and economic growth. This includes encouraging businesses to adopt environmentally friendly practices, strengthening social safety nets for vulnerable populations, preserving our cultural heritage, and enhancing governance to ensure that the benefits of globalization are distributed equitably.

Ronase

-The Philippines has experienced both good and bad consequences from globalization, particularly when it comes to sustainable development. Positively, globalization has increased access to technology, increased economic opportunities, and opened up trade between countries, all of which contribute to job creation and economic growth. It has also enhanced infrastructure and promoted cross-cultural interaction. But it has also brought with it difficulties, like growing income disparities, deteriorating environmental conditions, and reliance on overseas markets. In order to create sustainable development and guarantee the long-term prosperity of all Filipinos, these economic advantages must be balanced with social justice, environmental preservation, and responsible resource usage.

In a sustainable development aspect, globalization has improved economic growth and technological advancement. It also helped in building infrastructures and fostering cultural growth. However, it also presented challenges along the way. With globalization and continuous development, environmental degradation and economic inequality have been observed. While it is no doubt that globalization has played a huge role, it still has disadvantages that we cannot ignore. The important thing to do is carefully manage our resources and implement stronger policies, so that we can fully benefit from globalization without sacrificing sustainability.

Villalon - I think globalization has really affected the Philippines in many aspects, positive and negative. On the positive side, it has created many employment opportunities. A good example is the boom in the BPO or Business Process Outsourcing industry; the call center industry as it is commonly referred to. Today people in the Philippines find jobs with large firms and corporations in their own country but have good payday while remaining with their family. Oh this industry has really flourished and helped a lot of people especially those residing in urban centers like Metro Manila and Cebu. But there is also the other side of the coin. This has been occasioned by globalization whereby some local businesses have been overshadowed by their counterparts from other countries. Like for example,. Because there is cheap rice from Vietnam and other nations, farmers can hardly get a good price for their produce. This has led to an impact on their earnings and lifestyle as well as those in the rural areas. Of course, there are also advantages that can be attributed to the process of globalization, such as easier access to technology and education for Filipino people. We can now study online, perform contract services for companies across the world, or develop skills that allow us to look for a job in another country or establish our own home-based businesses. Now interaction with the global market can be coined as easier than ever before.

But this has been accompanied by some environmental issues as a result of the high growth rate. For instance, mining has been a topic of concern or has been considered as a contentious matter. There are companies from other countries that have impacted on the natural environment by cutting down trees and destroying the living environment of people who engage in farming or fishing. We’ve seen this in the provinces of Palawan and Mindanao. Particularly has this province been hit by violent storms. Hence, on one hand, there are benefits such as employment and access to technologies, but on the other hand there are concerns such as the impact on local industries as well as the environment. Some of these are opportunities that require careful handling while others are threats in the business environment

Cortez - In my opinion, globalization has given us opportunities to be able to expand not just our knowledge in terms of tradings, culture, environment, but as well as technology, progressively. Technology advancements in terms of globalization has helped in hospitals, providing better health care and medical services, it has helped in being able to sell and market products that is only available in others countries but with technology, products can now be bought from your home to be delivered in a span of a days, and much more.

Mejia - For me, in terms of the four following topics, it really affected us both good ways and bad ways. To sum it up, globalization boosted the Philippines economy with the trade and investment but it also exposed it to more global risks like the economic instability, increased competition, financial crisis, environmental challenges, and so on. But on the other hand it widened our access to more resources and gave us more opportunities ang challenges that needs to be managed effectively.

Ramos - The effects of globalization in the Philippines based on history is that during colonial times, the Philippines were colonized by the Spanish and America. This results in adapting to the changes brought by these countries. The effects of the influence of colonization are the Regional beliefs, languages, and cultures resulting in syncretism. Additionally, we also adapted to American education, legal systems, and markets.

This helped the Philippines to learn about new ideas and adapt shaping what we have today

Novicio - Globalization affected the Philippines in terms of Human Security but it goes with positive and negative effects. For the positive, it created more job opportunities not limited domestically but internationally so this enabled Filipinos to work abroad, and with that, the dependent family receives remittances from their family member who works abroad. Another thing is, due to globalization we have more access to technologies, medicines, food (goods) imports that improved our health and food security. The negative about this is that it led to more challenges such as inequality in income, climate change from environmental degradation and carbon emissions. Additionally, our personal security is at risk if we're not careful enough because globalization contributed to cross-border crimes such as human trafficking and exploitation or online scams. Not only that, but this had also affected our political security because of the pressure from foreign governments. They sometimes create policies that prioritizes foreign interests rather than in human security in their country, not thinking much about what the risks and consequences could be for the people.

Alorro — For me, there are both positive and negative effects of globalization in our country. Globalization helped our economy grow by giving us more job opportunities and helping us trade with other countries and gave us access to the global market. It also helped our country exchange cultures with others which gave us ideas for innovation. However, globalization also negatively affected our country. There is an increase in competition and we became more exposed to economic challenges. In order to prevent our country from being completely destroyed by these negative effects, our government should help and address these issues properly and provide stronger policies that will strengthen our rights, preserve our culture, and protect our environment and resources.

Nanit - For me, the effects of globalization in the Philippines based on international organizations have been multifaceted, involving both opportunities for growth and challenges related to economic disparity, power, and social issues. It effects the economic development and trade that the organization WTO, or World Trade Organization, has influenced the Philippines when it comes to the trade policies and practices that increased access to international markets, though it exposed the Philippines to domestic industries to intense international competition. Also, when it comes to labor and migration, the ILO, or International Labour Organization, is the one that influenced the labor standards and policies of the Philippines when it comes to workers rights and migration. When it comes to human rights and governance, the international organization United Nations (UN) plays a role when it comes to advocating human rights and democratic governance in the Philippines that influenced policies and raised awareness about issues like corruption, human trafficking, and political accountability. When it comes to health and education, the World Health Organization, or WHO, has impacted public health and educational policies to fight diseases, improve healthcare infrastructure, and enhance educational systems. Lastly, environmental issues: the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has raised awareness and response to environmental issues that the Philippines face challenges related to climate change, natural disasters, and sustainability due to its vulnerability and economic activities.
