"I have had a job since I was 7 years old," says Chris. He worked with his dad cleaning carpets at Proctor School. He would also mow lawns around the mobile park where he lived. When he was 15 he got his drivers permit and was running a work crew for his dads company during the summers. He worked nights cleaning restaurant exhaust ventilation and fire control equipment. He took over the business in his 20's but sold it. All of that was still not like the robotics that he still wanted to be doing. Later in his 20's he started his own company doing data and media installations for residential and business clients. That shortly morphed into computers and radio tower work, which was closer to the Electrical Engineering he wanted to do. He also sold that out to the company he works for now in 2012.

In March of 1985 Christopher broke both of his legs skiing and couldn't go to the last part of his 5th grade year. Shortly after getting his casts off, his parents moved to Wrenshall and stared sixth grade that September. He knew two people at Wrenshall but no one else, so he had to make new friends. He was graciously accepted into a group of friends. "That was awesome," he says. They played Barn Ball (full contact basketball) in the gym after lunch, but that probably wasn't smart because the lunch lady would bring all the leftovers for them to eat. They spent a lot of time in the Shop and Science room during English class because the teachers would give them passes. Chris and his friends would spend time cleaning the Shop room floor or hang out in the back storage room in the Science room. A good friend of his made Ethanol for a Science fair project. They also got a recipe for Napalm, from an old book and asked to make it in the Science Lab. They were told "NO". The craziest thing Chris thinks they did was during his junior year when they were in charge of Homecoming, they used liquid Nitrogen. They poured it over the arch to create smoke that the Homecoming candidates walked under when they came onto the stage. "Thinking back that could have ended very badly," says Chris, "But our teachers had a lot of faith in us and the way we did things."
