In around 50 years oil will be depleted. We need a push for renewable resources so that we are not dependent on a non-renewable resource, since they come to an end. With renewable resources, they can be renewed; infinite. We can keep using these resources over and over again.

There is being such a big push for renewable resources because for example oil is running out. Without oil what would our cars run on? In an estimated 53 years we will run out of oil. Now needing rely on renewable resources.

What if oil ran out?
Well without oil cars won't be able to run. In reality there would be no point in having a car that relies on gas in 2073 (53 years from now) If the statistics are true this would happen. Although electric cars would still be able to be used.
