How to play:

I sell oil, I sell honey,

My master is dead, I will sell it.

At the end of the rhyme, the midwife secretly leaves the handkerchief behind a child and starts running around the apartment.

If the child with a handkerchief notices the handkerchief, he immediately takes it and runs behind the midwife.

If the midwife sits in the place of the child without being caught, the child who notices the handkerchief becomes the new "midwife"; the midwife becomes the "midwife".

Two teams stand in two lines, facing each other.
Each player in both teams has a number.
One person stands in the middle holding a handkerchief.

The person in the middle says a number.
The players with that number run to the center.
They try to take the handkerchief and run back to their team.

If a player gets the handkerchief and returns without being touched, their team gets a point.
If the other player touches them before they return, the point goes to the other team.

The team with more points at the end wins.

How to play:
One child is chosen to be the “blind man buff.” Their eyes are gently covered with a scarf or cloth so they cannot see. The other children stand around in a safe space. The blind man buff is slowly turned around a few times to make it harder to know where everyone is. Then the game starts.

The blind man buff tries to catch one of the players by listening carefully to sounds and movements. The other children can move a little or make small noises to be playful and tricky. When someone is caught, the blind man buff tries to guess who it is by touching their face or hands. If the guess is right, that child becomes the new blind man buff.

Important rules:
The game should be played in a clear area with no obstacles. Pushing, pulling, or hitting is not allowed. Everyone must play carefully and follow the rules so the game stays safe and enjoyable for all.

• One player is chosen to be the Blind Man.

• The Blind Man’s eyes are covered with a blindfold.

• The other players stand around in a safe playing area.

• The Blind Man turns around slowly three times.

• The other players move quietly around the Blind Man.

• The Blind Man tries to catch someone by listening and touching.

• When a player is caught, the Blind Man must guess who it is.

• If the guess is correct, the caught player becomes the new Blind Man.

• Players must not push or run to avoid accidents.

• The game continues until everyone has had a turn.

Equipment: 6 tiles or flat stones, 1 ball

Preparation

1. Stack the six tiles (or flat stones) one on top of another to form a small tower.

2. Team A stands behind the tower.

3. Team B stands approximately 7–8 metres in front of the tower.

How to Play

1. Players from Team B take turns throwing the ball, trying to knock down the tower.

2. Each player has one throw/attempt.

After the Tower Falls

• When the tower is knocked down, the tiles scatter and the game becomes active:

  • Team A tries to hit (“burn”) players of Team B with the ball.

  • Team B tries to collect the tiles and rebuild the tower in the original place.

Scoring (Winning a Set)

• Team B wins one set if they manage to rebuild the tower before all players are burned.

• The player who places the last tile on the tower must shout “Tzami!” to confirm the completion of the tower and end the set.

Role Change

• If Team A manages to burn all players of Team B before the tower is rebuilt, the game restarts and the teams swap roles.

Winner of the Game

The overall winner is the team that wins the highest number of sets.

-You need at least 4 students or it can be more and also you need a ball.

-First the students come together in the school yard and make a circle.

-Then one of them throw the ball to the air by saying a friend's name loudly.

-After that there are two options:

1. If the student grabs the ball without touching ground, first he says ''STOP'' and tells another friends name and throw the ball to the air again.

2. If the ball touches the ground, in that the student catch the ball after touching the ground, as soon as he grabs the he should say ''STOP'' all the friends runs till they hear ''stop''. he says a colour and everybody try to find that colour by running through the yard with friends. If you don't find the colour, the student will kick the ball to you. Then you throw the ball to the air again by saying a name.

   This game is so enjoyable and energetic, students' favourite also. They must know each other's name and also colours.

1.      The game is played with 2 teams on a court divided in halves and with more than one ball (from 2 to 6). Each half of the court is the living area of the team. Out of that space you are going to be eliminated.

2.      The aim is to eliminate all opponents by hitting them with one of the balls.

3.      You are out of the match (we say you are dead) if you are hit by a ball that does not touch the ground first. If the ball goes on the floor and then the player, you are saved.

4.      If you catch the ball in the air, you are saved but the player from the other team, who threw it, is out of match.

5.      You can never cross or go over the central line which divides the two halves of the court. If so you are eliminated.

6.      The team able to hit and eliminate more players from the other team, wins.  You can choose a time to end the match (for example 10 minutes and you count the number of players in the time when the game is over) or you can go on playing till all the players are eliminated from one of the team.

MENDIL KAPMACA / GRABING HANDKERCHIEF

Before the game, a referee and a handkerchief-keeper must be chosen. Players should be divided into two groups.
The group leaders try to gain an advantage over each other by jumping, and the leader whose foot is on top determines which side their team will be on; the defensive team or the offensive team.
There should be a distance of at least 2 meters and at most 5 meters between the two groups.

Tactics for the handkerchief-grabbing game:

-It is forbidden to enter the circle drawn around the handkerchief-keeper before the handkerchief is caught. Therefore, you can win the game by using a distraction while trying to catch the handkerchief from the handkerchief-keeper, thus making your opponent enter the circle. -You must run fast. -You must think of moves that will surprise and distract your opponent.

How is the game played?

1. First, the referee places the player chosen as the handkerchief-keeper in the center and draws a circle around them with a radius of 1.5-2 meters.
2. The other players line up one after another to the right and left of the handkerchief-keeper.
3. The handkerchief handler, an important part of the game, stands still, takes a handkerchief in their hand, raises it upwards, and gently lets it hang down.
4. The referee blows the whistle. As soon as they hear the whistle, the two leading players from each group run to catch the handkerchief.
5. The goal here is to grab the handkerchief and return to your place without tagging your opponent.
6. If you grab the handkerchief and return to your place, you earn one point for your group. 7. If you surprise your opponent and get them into the circle before they catch the handkerchief, you earn another point for your group.
8. If you get caught by your opponent after grabbing the handkerchief, the opposing team also earns one point.
9. After each group member has competed, the team with the most points wins the game.

They really liked it a lot!

The game brought a lot of energy, laughter, and teamwork into our classroom. It was a wonderful way for our students to discover a traditional game from another culture while building cooperation and fair play skills. Thank you for this fun and meaningful experience!

In this activity, students created a fun and interactive game using recycled materials, giving a second life to everyday objects. The elastic game helps improve coordination, balance, and teamwork, while encouraging creativity and environmental awareness.

The game is played with a long elastic band, held around the legs by two players, while a third player performs a sequence of jumps. The elastic is placed at different heights – starting from the ankles and gradually moving up to the knees or waist – making the game more challenging. Players must follow specific jumping patterns without touching or missing the elastic. If a mistake is made, the next player takes a turn.

Through play, students learn the importance of recycling and discover how simple materials can be transformed into engaging learning experiences. It was a joyful moment of collaboration, movement, and sustainable thinking.

My students enjoyed this puzzle activity a lot. It may seem simple but they helped one another.

Nine Men’s Morris is a strategy board game played by two players, each with 9 stones (pieces), on a board made of three nested squares connected by lines.

Brief Gameplay:

Placing the Pieces:

Players take turns placing their 9 stones on the intersection points of the board.

Making a Mill (Three in a Row):

If a player forms a line of three stones in a row (vertically or horizontally), this is called a mill. The player can then remove one of the opponent’s stones from the board.

Moving the Pieces:

After all stones are placed, players take turns moving their stones along the lines to an adjacent empty point.

Winning the Game:

A player wins if they:

Reduce the opponent to 2 stones, or

Block the opponent so they cannot make any move.

This game requires strategy, planning, and careful movement.
