Tennis is fascinating and it is not just about as simple as other sports, it has expanded all over the world and nowadays it is popular in many countries. Its beginning was completely different than the sport is today. What has made it so unique through all the years?

Major Walter Clopton Wingfield published the first book of rules and took out a patent on his game in 1874 although similar games were played earlier like “jeu de pame”. It was played in France back in the 11 th century, created by monks for entertainment roles during ceremonial occasion.

Modern Tennis was designed and codified in England in the 1870’s. It was firstly introduced in the Olympic Games in 1896 to 1924, then returning in 1988 till nowadays. At the same time many competitions appeared such as: Wimbledon, Autralian Open, etc…

Evidently, tennis has turned into a highly competitive, mental and physical draining sport. All of the changes that have been made over the last years have transformed tennis into a distinctive sport, where no coaching is allowed, health and fitness are tested to the maximum, and mental strength is key
