Remembrance: 

1. The first thing I remember about was the assignment Jonas was given, which was the assignment of the Receiver. 

2. The second thing I remember was the way they chanted after Jonas was chosen, which made him uncomfortable.

3. The third thing I remember was that Fiona was assigned to be the Keeper of the Old. 

Learning: 

1. The first thing I learned was that though sometimes sameness is beneficial, other times it is not. 

2. The second thing I learned was that the major theme of the book is individuality.
