What is the Problem and What are the Root Causes of the Problem

The root of the Syrian refugee crisis is mainly caused by the civil war. The war started because of the violent government crackdown in response to anti-government groups and peaceful protest that escalated and became violent. Ethnic and religious groups started fighting and that made things more complicated. The cause of displaced refugees besides the war is that countries won’t let Syrians seek asylum. The reason people are so against Syrians seeking asylum is because they are afraid that they will steal their jobs.

The Syrian civil war has not only affected the Syrian community but also the worldwide community. Twelve million people have been killed or moved out of their homes. Seven million people have had to move to seek asylum and 1.6 of them are children. It is estimated by the U.N that Syrians need at least 4.6 billion dollars to help them. Schools and hospitals in Syria have been destroyed. This has affected the world around us because our economies have changed since letting Syrians take asylum in our country.
