acrylic polymer is the binder that holds the pigment, and it is a synthetic resin. It has characteristics of being fast drying and a flexible film. It can be modified with water or other vehicles to obtain unique characteristics that have the appearance of of different medias; like water color, oil paintings, or something completely different from other media.
