One of strategy games used at our school is GO FOR BROKE.
The rules are simple. 1. Students are divided into groups and they come up with the name of the team.
2. The teacher draws a score board. Each team gets $100 at the beginning of the play.
3. Students are doing various exercises to get points and when the teacher says "The auction is open" they start bid calling.
4. The team that bids the highest number answer the question/ task. If their answer is right, they get the bid number. If their answer is wrong, they lose the bid number.
5. Students can only bid the money they have.
6. If the team call "GO FOR BROKE" it means they put everything on strike. If their answer is right, they double the money. If their answer is wrong, they lose everything. The team that calls "GO FOR BROKE" wins the right to answer the question - no metter how much other teams bid.
7. The winner is the team who gets the highest number of points.
8. The team needs to assess their abilities to risk and gain.
