A True Warrior

“You will stay and help defend our cave against all comers, protect those weaker than yourself and honor our code." (Pg 24) This is one of the most important quotes of the book because it is basically the turning point of Martin's life where he turns from a little mouse into a warrior. If this never happened this story would have never been able to happen or at least not to the extent of which it did."

"It is a long hard road ahead for you, little warrior. Enjoy a happy day while you can" (Pg) 200. This quote was one of the first lines that Boldred said when we first met him. Its important because it shows us right from the get go that Boldred is a caring and friendly character, a change from most of the characters Martin and his party have dealt with.

"The three beasts we had in the prison pit are gone." (Pg 85.) This quote marks another major turning point in the story when Martin, Feldoh, and Brome escaped Marshank Fortress. Because these three were able to escape with the help from Grumm the story was able to unfold. If this never happened yet again the tale of these escaped slaves would have never came true.

"I thank you with all my heart." (Pg. 327) is what Martin said when he finally was able to gather up all the brave warriors of Noonville. This quote marks the beginning of the battle of Marshank, the last resort in order to free the rest of the slaves and finally put an end to the the tyrannous Badrang and his horrific horde. It was also a turning piont for a character named Brome who stepped up to the request from Martin to be the armies field medic despite his past fear of battle.

"Don't kill me," he sobbed. "You can have it all, the fortress, everythi-----!"(Pg 365.) These were Badrang's last words before Martin the Warrior son of Luke the Warrior slew the monster he promised to slay since the first chapter of the book. This is obviously a super important part in the book because it was Martin's main goal throughout the whole book was to return to Marshank and put an end to Badrang and he finally has.
