Abigail grew up in the 1920, when she was only fifteen years old when the flapper became one of the most popular thing in the world today. Flapper are dresses that young women like me have worn since we didn’t want to be stuck in the olden day like our parents. Flappers were consider the new fashion the clothing goes above your knees and having socking that were close to your skin tone. My friends and I were very good dancer we dance to the foxtrot, and the tango. But the major problem is that we are still limited, on drinking, smoking cigarettes and other things. Apparently it would ruin our reputation, so all of us were limited on certain things. It was called the double standard, what it means was that all women had to stay at home women but when world war 1 started all women wanted to be the same as men. How did we, the women change the workplace? Well now women has opportunities for jobs such as offices, factories, and professions. Since WWi the women had been taking jobs for the place of mens. And luckily by 1930, over 10 million women were earning wages! To support their family, even though it was consider that the mens were to support the family but now the women can help support their family. But the only problem was that women was still treated unfairly because they got lower wages than the mens and there wasn’t much jobs open for the women.
