CreateSpace by AVANTJANEdesign https://padlet.com/avantjanedesign/i51wv3w23058 Always en-us 2017-05-14 01:53:40 UTC 2023-06-07 11:19:17 UTC hello@padlet.com I am wonderful. avantjanedesign https://padlet.com/avantjanedesign/i51wv3w23058/wish/171646312 My father surprised me.  Despite his rapid decline during the last year of his life, he remembered.  I asked him, "Can you sing me a song?"  He lay in his bed with his eyes closed.  He sang, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.  You make me happy, when skies are gray.  You'll never know dear, how much I love you.  Please don't take my sunshine away."  He paused, then, "The other night dear, as I lay sleeping, I dreamt I held you in my arms.  But when I woke dear, I was mistaken, and I hung my head and cried."  He never opened his eyes.  Tears were streaming down my face.  I kept quiet. --------------------------------------------------He smiled.  
When my three children and I arrived, my father was at the door, sitting upright in a wheelchair wearing his favorite blue shirt.  I say upright because he had been hunched over with his head at his knees for nearly a year.  My daughter crouched down by the arm of his chair.  "How are you Grandpa?"  He looked at her, then at me and my two boys. With a huge smile on his face he said, "I'm wonderful!"  He had barely spoken for months and hadn't smiled for a year. The next day he was in his bed, with his eyes closed non-responsive.  He lived a few more weeks.

In gratitude, I wake up naturally to bird songs and a cool breeze kissing my forehead.  Gifting myself a moment of quiet, I savor a cup of rich black coffee in my favorite art fair mug.  I trust the loyal receptiveness of my journal as I pen my early morning chatter. I release all of the noise from yesterday’s juggle as I walk into the unfolding of my new story.  I am realizing the power of manifesting my dreams by simply asking and recognizing that nurturing myself creates abundant possibilities of connection and creative solutions.   

I am fueled by the power of believing in others.  Together we are hope.
