Although, cell phones might be a good thing for communication with parents or guardians they are not good to have in class because studies have shown that kids tend to do better without phones in class. Students become bored and they can easily take their phones out and go on them. This makes it easier to get off topic during class. According to studies 64% text in class and 46% play games on their phones.

Having phones in class leads to cheating. Students will not be able to take out their phones in the middle of a test. What they can do is go to the restroom and instantly text friends for answers. In the article Cons of CellPhones in School by Jennifer Betts she states researchers from Pew Research Center say that about 35% of students have used their phones to cheat. Students use the phone to text friends for answers, this is just 46% of students and 41% store notes on their phone to use during the test.

A big issue with phones is cyberbullying. If something embarrassing happens to someone and it is captured on phones they can use it against the person it happened to. At a push of a couple buttons students can text each other and bully others. When they could be focusing of their work but instead they hurt other people's feelings. In the research on Cyberbullying research center that was done in 2016 it says that “11.9% have been threatened through a cell phone text and 11.1% have had a hurtful image of them posted.”

hones can be very helpful in emergency situations such as a school shooting or natural disaster. Cell phone can be useful to call loved ones. The problem is that calling a loved one might not be of much help because in emergencies, time is of the essence and loved ones might not be able to help with the problem. It’s the teachers that are going to be there.

About 80 percent of students in high school own or have a device with internet access at home, such as a computer or laptop. It is such an important tool to be able to have a device in class because they would be able to learn about anything, at anytime. Many scholars are now attending virtual classes, online education is now becoming more and more popular than ever before. Although there are many cons involving cell phone use in class, students are smarter with the ways they use and perceive information with their cellular devices in class.

The students are getting a notification on their phone. The teacher is seems to be the one sending out the message to the students, you can tell because of the enlarged phone screen that shows the message the teacher is sending to the students. In this Cartoon it is showing how kids tend to use their phones during the school day a lot. And so the teacher has found out a way for the students to use their phones, and to get work done for him, by using his phone and messaging them all saying to turn in their homework via text.

There is a teacher at the front of the class and there is students holding up their phones as if they were recording whatever the teacher was doing. There’s a caption at the bottom showing what the teacher in the class is telling the students. The message is that students need to take notes on paper instead of taking videos which is the easier way of “taking notes”.
