Validation

P: Validation is about people feeling good about themselves through others approval or through others “Validation.” It is a film directed by Kurt Kuenne and provides a great example of how people get their validation from romance or from any stranger willing to validate them.

A: At first the film kind of makes me think that people who let validation satisfy them was pathetic but then by the end of the film, it comes full circle beautifully. This happens because Victoria seems to be always unhappy because of the way her mother has gone through life pretty much depressed. When the mother gets validated it is far from pathetic like the other people might have been and it becomes very meaningful, maybe because she was older or in a wheelchair. So her getting validated made her happy which rubbed off on Victoria, causing her to smile.

C: This story feels easiest to connect to because we all need validation in one way or another. Especially in relationships validation makes people happier and feel accepted while I’ve also seen people desperate for validation. I am guilty of wanting validation from people but I think everyone likes it to some extent, even people who act like they don’t.
