There are several details in the text that show what Scrooge’s questions do. On line 23 the text states, “For the first time the kind hand faltered’’, meaning that the spirit’s hand had started to shake, also on line(s) 28-30 the text says, “...he saw a alteration in the phantom’s hood and dress. It shrunk, collapsed and dwindled down the bedpost.” Therefore, I can infer that Scrooge is all is well because, the text doesn’t say anything about Scrooge having any further problems with his grumpiness or his problems with being rude.

The spirit is affected by what he said because the text states on line 28-30,“Holding up his hands in one last prayer to have his fate reversed, he saw an alteration in the phantom’s hood and dress. It shrunk, collapsed, and dwindled down into a bedpost.” from this i can infer that when he said that the spirit thought twice about what scrooge said. It is easy to see that the spirit left him alone because the spirit dwindled down and left. Because of this the spirit gave scrooge a second chance so he gave money to the poor and gave presents to his family and stoped working as hard. Therefore we know that scrooge is gonna be more thankful for his family and life.

From the text , one of the details that are found from the text on line 23 is “for the first time his kind hand flattered”. Secondly, another detail on line 29 from the text “It shrunk, collapsed, dwindled down into a bedpost”. Therefore I can state Scrooge's words affected what the spirit did because his hand was not a mean rude hand it turned to a kind hand, and his body shrunk to a bedpost when the spirit has noticed Scrooge did mean he was going to change so the spirit faded away.

There is many different signals that show Scrooge affected the spirit by what he is saying and how he said it.The first signal is when Scrooge pleads that he wants a second chance and says he would respect Christmas and be a good person. Then the spirits hand starts to shake in a friendly way and then Scrooge pleads more saying he will do anything to change his life and to be a good person and have a second chance. Finally the hand shake more and Scrooge grabs on and pleads and next the spirits hand turned into a bedpost and Scrooge was in his bed. From this I can give a reasoning that Scrooge got his wish because the spirit would had probably said something before he left like saying no or you are not worthy but he said nothing and his and shook in a friendly way and turned into a bedpost and what if he turned into something else then would that mean no.

The text states the spirit hand starts to shake. On line 30 it states that the spirit “dwindled down and turned into a bedpost.” From all the this evidence i can infer that Scrooge got his wish that he will get a second chance. It is obvious that Scrooge got his with of getting another chance because he is still in one piece and the spirit left him alone. When Scrooge was begging the spirit started to dwindle down and shrivel up and left. Therefore I think Scrooge got his second chance.

There are several details regarding how the phantom is affected by what Scrooge says. According to the text, on lines 19-21 it states,”I will not be the man I must have been but for this intercourse. Why show me this, if I am past all hope? Assure me that I yet may change these shadows you have shown me, by an altered life.”For the first time the kind hand faltered.” Another detail regarding how the phantom is affected by what Scrooge says is that on lines 25-30 it states,”I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The spirits of all three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach. Oh, tell me I may sponge away the writing on this stone!” Holding up his hands in one last prayer to have his fate reversed, he saw an alteration in the phantom’s hood and dress. It shrunk, collapsed, and dwindled down into a bedpost.”

From this I can infer that this spirit was affected by what Scrooge said because firstly, after he said he would be good, the phantom’s hand altered. Secondly, when Scrooge said he would completely change, the phantom’s hood and dress shrunk, collapsed and turned into a bedpost.

There are several details that show that the spirit is affected by what scrooge says.

There are several details that show that the spirit was affected by what Scrooge said. First of all the spirit starts to shake. According to the text,“For the first time the kind hand faltered.” (Line 23). Also, in the end of the story the spirit collapses and turns into a bedpost. The text says, “It shrunk, collapsed, and dwindled into a bedpost.” (Line 29, 30). From the text, I can infer that the spirit was affected by what Scrooge said by faltering and collapsing.

Which detail shows that the spirit is affected by what Scrooge is said?

There are several parts in the story that show that the spirit is affected by what Scrooge says. The text shows, “Holding up his hands in one last prayer to have his fate reversed, he saw an alteration in the phantom's hood and dress. It shrunk, collapsed, and dwindled down into a bed spot” (line 30). Also the text says, “For the first time the kind hand faltered” (line 23). From the text I can infer that what Scrooge had said to the spirit, gave him a chance to change his life around. In my opinion I would give Scrooge a 2nd chance because I think that everyone should be given a second chance in any situation.

There are several details that show that the spirit is affected by what Scrooge says.

According to the text, the way Scrooge’s words affected the Spirit was by asking questions that begged and showed the spirit that Scrooge was willing to become a better person. Such as on line 18, Scrooge says, “Am I that man who lay upon that bed? No spirit! Oh no,no! Spirit! Here me! I’m not the man I was. I will not

Although Scrooge is the only character who speaks in the scene, there are several details that show the spirit is affected by what Scrooge says. In spite of the fact that the spirit doesn’t say anything you can see by his body language the spirit reacts to what Scrooge says . For example the text states on line 23 “For the first time the kind hand faltered”. In addition to that the text also states on lines 28-30 that “holding up his hands in one last prayer to have his fate reversed, he saw an alteration in the phantom’s hood and dress. It shrunk, collapsed, and dwindled down into a bedpost¨. What I can infer from these pieces of text is by the phantoms actions, what Scrooge said affected the phantom, and the spirit was kind of persuaded that Scrooge had changed his ways and deserved a second chance.

Are these the shadows of the things that will be, or are
they shadows of the things that may be only?”
Still the ghost pointed downward to the grave by which it stood.
“Men’s courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if
persevered in, they must lead.
