A method of overcoming this issue would be to create an environment where all team members are comfortable to share their ideas and speak up in. That way it is easier to get to know everybody and understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Leaving Behind Group Members

Sometimes one group member, or a few of members, will only communicate with each other and get all the work done, leaving behind the other people in the group. This is especially common in teams where a few of the teammates know each other but the entire group isn't familiar with one another. This can lead to the other members not knowing what tasks they need to do and being unable to reach out to the entire team.
- Ashmitha Julius Aravind

The disadvantage of being in a group with your friends could be that sometimes you can get off topic and spend very little time doing the actual work. It sometimes can be awkward to confront a friend about this or if one of them isn't doing their part and is getting distracted, so it's important to know to how to properly communicate.
- Ashmitha Julius Aravind
