Alice changed because as a little girl she saw herself as beautiful and after the accident she changed the way she viewed herself. Her daughter made her see her true beauty because she found it interesting not ugly. Alice is trying to find the true definition of beauty which she found at the end when she started dancing. True beauty comes from within not from the way people see you or the way you look.

In the story, "Beauty", by Alice Walker, she talks about when she was little and hit with a BB gun in the eye and go blind. she talks about growing up in with her eye and having low self esteem. The conflict of the story is her eye and her feeling ugly about her eye. The resolution is her daughter not finding her eye ugly. The theme of the story is that beauty is different to many people. She has always felt ugly about her eye but her daughter made her realize.

Alice growing up viewed herself as a beautiful young lady. After she got shot, Alice started to beat down on herself and did not feel beautiful anymore. The subject is about the journey she takes with beauty. She changed by having a lot of confidence in the beginning and then went to feeling to insecure. She learned that when things get hard in life you continue on and maintain positive and if you view yourself in a negative way others might not see you like that. There's gonna be obstacles that are gonna try to stop you from be you, you just have to continue on the road. Alice learned in the end that she really is beautiful even with a messed up eye. What was learned is that beauty is viewed in very different ways in all kinds of perspectives and no matter what beauty can be all around.

Alice was playing with her Brothers that had BB guns and got shot in the eye, the brothers told her to not say it was them. She view her self differently after the "accident", she didnt have any confidences in her self and blamed her eye for many years because she thought she was ugly. Near the end she wrote this "the other dancer has obviously come through all right, as I have done. she beautiful, whole, and free. And she is also me" and saying this she accepts her self

The theme is" beauty is in the eye of the beholder." because she sees herself as being ugly. The "accident" she had with her brother shooting her eye with a BB gun is the main reason to the cause of her self esteem issues. She fears her daughter will feel embarrassed or weird to have a mother who doesn't have both of her eyes. Her daughter doesn't see her in that way though. Her daughter is innocent and isn't aware of her deformity, she only sees her mother. This allows Alice to finally accept her eye for what it is, another part of her that makes up her beauty.

Alice growing up in in Eatonton , Georgia in 1944, Alice walker the youngest of eight children are on there way to a fair and there parents buy the boys a "BB" gun to shoot at birds and one day Alice was standing on top of a makeshift garage with pieces of tin nailed across some poles and then she feels an incredible blow in her right eye and little does she know that her brothers shot her in her eye on accident and she went to the doctor and the doctor says if one gets blind its likely for the other one to be blind too and she said its really how she looks that bother her the most she doesn't want to look a certain type of way with her eye she says if she stares at people they will stare back and look at her but not her cuteness but the scar she has she said for six years she does not stare at anyone because she doesn't raise her head. she asks her parents have she changed since that happened and then they say no and she feels she has because shes been doing poorly in school, her brother shooting her in her eye causes her to have low confidence and low self esteem issues. she feels bad because when she gets a daughter she feels that her daughter will look at her differently and feel embarrassed to have a mother who doesn't have both of her eyes but her daughter doesn't feel that way and that makes Alice feels comfortable and accept the scar on her eye
