They do not consider them to be restrictions, but more so, morals that will make you happier and cleanse you for Heaven.
- They believe God exists in the Holy Trinity--- The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit--- each a different being, all part of the same one God
- Catholicism has Seven Sacraments meant as a way for God to be apart of your human life on Earth. These are...

Baptism

Eucharist

Confirmation

Reconciliation

Anointing of the sick

Marriage

Holy orders

- Catholics believe that you must have faith to get into heaven , but that true faith is being a doer of the word, not just a listener. They believe that to have the best chance of recieving eternal life, you must listen and read the scriptures and imitate the good works in your own life.

All these religions fall under Christianity. Catholicism can be the center point of all religions and then each one branches off. Most are based on God and acceptance and repentance. The most common sacrament with these religions is baptism. The religions see this as one of many forms of cleanse/accepting of Christ. Another common belief was how God was the highest authority in the religion. As for the scriptures, some followed the Bible, while other followed different scriptures such as Catholicism followed the 10 Commandments and the book of Concord. Ways to achieve salvation were determined differently or not achieved at all. Anglicanism and Calvinism says that God chooses who is saved, while Catholicism and Ana-baptism rely on following the bible and scriptures. Lutheranism is the only religion that believed that salvation could not be achieved.

Differences...
Life after Death:
Catholics believe God judges you and decided whether you get Eternal Salvation in Heaven or Eternal Damnation in Hell, before judgement day there is a temporal third state in purgatory
Protestants believe that there is no purgatory and that if you believe in Jesus as the savior you go to Heaven and if not you go to Hell.
Confessing Sins:
Catholics believe you should confess to priests and Protestants say you should confess to directly to God.
Means of Salvation:
Catholics believe you receive salvation at baptism but it may be lost by sin and can be regained by faith and penance. You must confess your sins and have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Protestants believe that all you need is faith in Jesus Christ because he already sacrficed himself for us to go to heaven
Communion:
Catholics believe that during holy communion the bread and wine literally and physically turn into the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
Protestants believe communion is a symbolic representation of Christ's death, and of believers commitment to him.
Views on other Religions:
Catholics believe the Catholic Religion is the only correct one and all others are false
Protestants believe that any religion that believes in Jesus Christ is correct, any other is false.
Similarities...
Scriptures:
Both believe that the Holy Bible is the true word
Belief in God:
Both believe there is only one God in the form of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and he created everything.
Status of Adam:
Both believe that Adam introduced sin and knowledge into the world
Identity of Jesus Christ:
Jesus is the Son of God and in essence the same being. The Word was made into flesh because of Jesus.
