The mission accomplished the goal set by the 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy in 1961 - to send American astronauts to the surface of the Moon and safely return them to Earth by the end of the decade, thereby outpacing the USSR in the "space race."

When we hear about the Moon Landing, we associate the mission with Neil Armstrong. At least for me, this name comes to mind in the first place. The input of Buzz (whose real name is Edwin) remains underrated.

Buzz Aldrin became the second person (after Armstrong) to step onto the lunar surface. However, according to the rumors, Aldrin was originally slated to be the first person to step onto the lunar surface. After taking his initial steps on the Moon, he conducted a brief religious service, which included the sacrament of Holy Communion.

This artifact allows us the room for imagination, thinking as if we are standing there, as if we were taking this picture, imagining how the soil feels, and what consistency it has, seeing how dark and unknown the sky looks behind the astronaut. This image is luring and inspiring to follow space exploration and push the boundaries of human capabilities.

From Neil Armstrong's recollection of the Moon surface: "Fine and powdery. I can kick it up loosely with my toe. It adheres like powdered charcoal to the boot, but I only go in a small fraction of an inch. I can see my footprint in the moon like fine grainy particles.”

650 million people watched the astronauts live on television, and approximately 400,000 people were involved in the preparation and execution of the mission. Regarding the later emergence of conspiracy theories about the "moon landing hoax," Armstrong commented, "It was easier to do than to fake."

It is important to mention that this image was at the center of speculations.

According to conspiracy theory believers, the American flag appears to be waving as if in the wind. However, there is no atmosphere on the Moon, so there cannot be wind. Also, no stars are seen, although, in the absence of an atmosphere, they should shine even brighter than on Earth. The explanation is simple and straightforward: it's all about the short exposure time of the camera. If it were longer, the stars would be clearly visible, but at the expense of the astronauts disappearing from view.

It took astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins a total of 75 hours and 49 minutes to reach the Moon and land on its surface.

The extensive preparations that were involved in the momentous first human step on the Moon are behind this. It was a collective triumph, emphasizing how the footstep symbolizes the achievement of all humanity.
