To do this you will need to critically reflect on real life experiences eg from university, practice etc  and identify how these evidence that you have met your chosen capabilities. So the focus is on your ability to critically analyse and evaluate your learning How you do this is up to you but it may be, for example, that one experience you choose to discuss meets more than one of the capabilities. This means you need to use theories evidence and research to support your reflection
not testimonies etc, you don't need to use these. You need to choose real life experiences from practice, university etc to critically  reflect upon and support with evidence and research etc

Real life experiences simply refers to experiences in your life so may be from practice, placement, university etc   

2. It says in the brief to
"Choose at least one capability from each domain and provide evidence to demonstrate how you have met this capability" But how many areas for development do we need to discuss and should these relate to the ICF framework? There are 4 domains in the ICF
  • Domain One: Collaborative Working
  • Domain Two: Cultural Awareness and Ethical Practice
  • Domain Three: Organisation Competence  
  • Domain Four: Reflection
  • Choose one capability from each domain: for example if you choose Domain one – you will see there is CW1, CW2, CW3,and CW4
  • Within each of these are sections you will see a table with level 1, level 2 and level 3. Level 2 equates to your second year but you maybe working towards that or have already met it.
  • Choose one capability so for example CW1 Level 2: In partnership with people who use services, participates in some aspects of the processes involved in implementing an integrated action plan.
  • Then use your critical reflection to identify how you have met this capability so for example you might talk about how in your placement you worked with a service user group to implement a new service/resources.
  • One reflection may meet more than one capability so bear this in mind as you don’t necessarily have to use four different experiences. Also we are interested mainly in the analysis, evaluation and learning so we do not want you to write lots of description but to do want you to focus on critical evaluation and analysis and how this links to your development as a collaborative practitioner

Hello and yes the sessions were recorded. You should talk to your group tutor  about  how to access the session and also about future sessions so you can work out a solution. The most important thing is that you engage with the integrated learning materials on Bb and with your collaborative group on Google communities.  Contact student support to talk about academic and other forms of support available to you

You are right the real life case  case studies refers to your experiences in practice/at uni etc.  
If you are talking about how you have worked collaboratively with your peers on the Darius CS that would be OK but you are not actually using Darius as a real life case study in your reflective assignment - hope that makes sense

Just wanted to check, you mentioned on the earlier post about how we still may be working towards the L2.Due to covid we haven't had as much time in practice as we should of and will be returning to our L4 placement so I don't feel as through I would have completed many of L2.Would I be right in thinking we could say how we have met the L1 and how we will be working towards the L2.

Yes your work on google communities and other platforms will provide opportunities for reflection but i would also advise you to keep a reflective journal throughout the life of the module

Hello, read all the guidance and access the resources on the mod site under the assessment tab to support you in your reflective writing. if you write reflectively as you say you necessarily have to write in the first person as you are writing about your experiences and learning but you should till support your reflective writing with evidence, research and theories

funnily enough I have literally  just posted guidance on what you can ask facilitators to look at - so here it is: you can ask your group facilitator to look at and provide feedback on 10% of your work (this equates to 150 words for your reflective assignment) This can be on whatever aspect of the essay you choose, for example,  you might ask them to look at a plan, or ask for feedback on your overall idea for the assessment. You can ask your facilitator to look at a draft paragraph and give you feedback on the quality of your reflective writing, or you can ask for feedback and guidance on using evidence, theory, and research to support your reflective writing

You can use a model of reflection for structure BUT we are not asking for an action plan so your focus will be on the analysis and evaluation of your learning

1.Is it mandatory to use the Gibbs model template in our assignment as evidence? No not mandatory - we will cover using reflective models in next weeks webinar. Using a reflective model can help structure your work but we want you to focus on analysis, evaluation and learning
2.In terms of evidence, does there need to be physical evidence or where we feel we have met that ICF backed up by an example? What we are looking for is evidence from your critically reflective accounts and experiences underpinned and supported by reference to academic theory, evidence and research. As you say you should back up your self assessment i.e. where you have met the capability with evidence from your reflections 
3.Are we assessing ourselves from levels 1-3 or 4-5 you are self assessing so you need to assess which capability you think you have met and then support this with evidence
4. Does it matter if we don't have placement experience or is it okay to just use university/ module/ work experiences? you can use any relevant experiences

Hello reflective writing is a way of processing your experiences to identify and support your learning. To evidence this learning you should integrate theories, evidence and research, so for example if you are talking about an experience where you were communicating with a service user identify important aspects of this experience and appropriate theories to underpin and support your reflection
As you suggest theories such as social learning theory may be relevant if they fit with the experience you are reflecting upon  You will have already covered many theories throughout your time at SHU so draw on these and also use your reading and research to support  your understanding and application of academic theories 
The integrated/uni professional learning materials on the module site provide you with a rich source of theories, evidence and research

Hello, there is lots of guidance on the mod site under the assessment tab about how to use the ICF in your assignment,  what you can reflect upon, you can use the case study but only in the sense of reflecting upon the collaborative work you have undertaken with your peers on the CS. This is a distance learning module and all the materials, webinars etc are on the mod site so you can catch up with anything you have missed. We recognise that students are in different stages and undertaking different activities ie some on placement etc so the module is designed for you to collaborate with your group using Google Communities and work through the learning materials and the case study online with your peers. Next weeks webinar will be focused on the reflective assignment so should help clarify some of your questions
Please do take some time to read through all the guidance and watch the recorded power points which tell you all you need to know abut the assessment tasks

There is no absolute rule here but standard advice is to use a plain font e.g. Times New Roman or Arial suggested size is 12 for the text and 14 for headings. If in doubt check with the facilitator for your group

Its really up to you but what I would say is go for quality not quantity ie focus on the analysis and evaluation of your learning through your experience, integrate theory and research to support this and link to your self assessment against the ICF
Regarding your second point I would say that we work and live in a culturally diverse world - so perhaps think more critically about how culturally sensitive health and social care services and your own practice is?

re appendices: an appendix should only be used for information that is not essential to your work (as it is not marked) ,but which could provide some useful context or background information so you could include a brief summary of a case study but you should avoid putting large amounts of work in your appendices. 
Reference the ICF  in your essay as follows eg Collaborative Working Capability 1 Level 2 would be referenced as  ( CW1:L2)
Include the ICF in your reference list at the end

An action plan is a plan to demonstrate what you will do to work towards and meet the next level and we are not asking you to do this in this assignment. Hi Amelia, how you structure the work is up to you (but do follow academic convention in introduction, main body and conclusion)  BUT as a critical reflection  in the main body of your work  you need to focus on analysis, evaluation and learning from the experience and integrate theories and evidence to support this and to evidence  how your experience supports you meeting the ICF capabilities. You can use appendices which are not counted in the word count or marked to provide context and then in the main body refer the reader to , for example, appendix one

The capabilities are contained in the Inter Professional Capability Framework (ICF). There are 4 domains in the ICF
  • Domain One: Collaborative Working
  • Domain Two: Cultural Awareness and Ethical Practice
  • Domain Three: Organisation Competence  
  • Domain Four: Reflection
There are a number of capabilities within each domain. You should choose one capability from each domain: for example if you choose Domain one – you will see there are 4 capabilities: CW1, CW2, CW3,and CW4. Within each of these capabilities you will see a table with level 1, level 2 and level 3.  Choose one capability so for example CW1 Level 2: In partnership with people who use services, participates in some aspects of the processes involved in implementing an integrated action plan. Then use your critical reflection to identify how you have met this capability so for example you might talk about how in your placement you worked with a service user group to implement a new service/resources. One reflection may meet more than one capability so bear this in mind as you don’t necessarily have to use four different experiences. Also we are interested mainly in the analysis, evaluation and learning so we do not want you to write lots of description but to do want you to focus on critical evaluation and analysis and how this links to your development as a collaborative practitioner

You will then need to choose a capability from this domain to assess yourself against so for example, OC1: L1  Is aware that person focused services, changing role boundaries and future service provision is influenced by policy and practice.
How would you evidence that you have reached this level? What policy and law drive changes in practice, what are the drivers for collaborative practice in your profession?
Do we have to explain the capabilities we are choosing and then speak about the case studies that reflect back to them, or do we just go into explaining about our case studies and use theory, research etc and not explain the domains and capabilities as the markers will know which capability we have chose etc?
You are using reflection ie examples from your experiences to support your assessment against the capabilities, please refer to the guidance on the module site and consult your facilitator marker for further support - I would suggest that you develop a plan of how you intend to tackle the assignment and then ask your facilitator for feedback to make sure you are heading in the right direction
Do we have to reference the ICF the whole way through as in whenever we start a new case study about meeting a certain capability etc?

Hi , you need to first identified which capability within that domain you feel you have met and use your reflection to evidence this.  So for example CAEP1: L1 Is aware of the need to respect diversity in service provision and can recognise how this is informed by non-judgemental anti-discriminatory practice. 
So use your reflection then to evidence your assessment against this capability eg how have you demonstrated that you understand the importance of a person centred approach in your practice

Guidance, support and feedback from your facilitator: you can ask your group facilitator to look at and provide feedback on 10% of your work (this equates to 150 words for your reflective assignment) This can be on whatever aspect of the essay you choose e.g. you might ask them to look at a plan, or ask for feedback on your overall idea, you can ask them to look at a draft paragraph and give you feedback on the quality of your reflective writing, or you can ask for feedback and guidance on using evidence, theory, and research to support your reflective writing

I have witnessed a family arguing about what should be done to a dead body of an individual who was Jewish. The wife wanted the late husband  to be buried  as  a catholic .    The children of that dead person were adults , and the relatives did not allow the body  to  be buried .as  catholic, the body stayed for a long time in the more. while the family were agurning about which culture needed to be followed  in order to bury the body in the late person’s wiser was so sad really and difficult to understand why could people who are left behind act in that way .

However if you are just talking about the reference itself  ie Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC, 2018).or in the reference list Nursing & Midwifery Council. (2018). Nothing within my text is highlighted so the section I have paraphrased from the NMC isn't highlighted. I just noticed as I clicked through the ones it had pulled out and the reference itself has come up as UKessays.
