She was very tall and well-proportioned, her face aroused a great shyness, but she also expressed love.
We don't have a particular description of her physical appearance but it is said that she had brown hair and dark eyes and a slightly tanned skin.
We all know her as the mother of Jesus but in the Divine Comedy she accompanies Dante, after St. Bartholomew, to God.

I would like to talk about the figure of “Francesca Da Rimini”.
We find her on Dante’s fifth chapter of Hell. Her fault was to fall in love with her husband’s brother. Francesca was forced to marry “Gianciotto” for a political issue and it’s for this reason that Dante places her among the lustful. 
Her physical description is not present in the text but in the paintings she was depicted with an angelic face, long wave and blonde hair and a fair complexion with a small nose. However, she has a noble soul and strength when she speaks to Dante, and he feels the need to pray even if she is damned.

Beatrice was the daughter of the banker Folco Portinari, and was married to another banker, Simone dei Bardi. Dante claims to have met a "Beatrice" only twice, on occasions separated by nine years, but was so affected by the meetings that he carried his love for her throughout his life.
In the Divine Comedy, Beatrice takes over as guide from the Latin poet Virgil because, as a pagan, Virgil cannot enter Paradise. Moreover Beatrice, being the incarnation of beatific love (as her name implies), is uniquely suited to lead the pilgrim into the realm of divine bliss.
Naturally, then, it's Beatrice who must lead the pilgrim into Paradise. Beatrice represents religious knowledge and passion: theology, faith, contemplation and grace. She represents the divine love.

She married Nello, an old man, she was very young when they married, she was loved from many young men and Nello was very jealous that he imprisoned her in a tower of his castle. 
One day he heard from a friend that Pia was having an affair with a young man.
He returned in the tower where Pia was imprisoned and he became violent, he pushed her out of the window and she died.

Beatrice met Dante Alighieri when she was just a kid and she met him again when she was married but Dante Alighieri never stopped to love her up to her dead. After Dante wrote about  her in the "Divina Commedia" where we also met other characters.
