I think one of my biggest strength is being attentive, I am always attentive even when it looks like I am distracted my attention can be direct at something important. Another strength would be a team player, I work well in a team like in my soccer teams in and out of school or in the panther mentor program.

I like playing classical guitar I play rancherras which can be pretty simple. I also like learning german and am very good at speaking, and study it at school and a little on my own. I love playing sports like soccer especially with my family and friends. I really like to cook and am good at it. And I also play video games like uncharted, red dead 2, fortnite, and call of duty.

I get really lazy; sometimes I am doing everything my homework, cleaning the house, doing my families laundry, and cooking and then I just lay in my bed, or couch doing nothing. Although I work well in a team there are many things I rather just do by myself. Sometimes I overcomplicate things and end up messing something up which makes me hesitant at doing anything even simple things.

I went to germany for 3 weeks and stayed mostly in Berlin. It was an exchange program (which I got a $1000 dollar grant for by writing an essay) and went to my host stundent’s school and it was very cool and interesting talking with other stundents in that schools learning about them and their thoughts. I stayed with a family who were very nice and interested in learning about me. I also went to Rugen, Munich and also Austria.

Texas

When i came back from germany I worked for a week with my dad and then left for Texas. I was there to visit my family especially my mom, my baby sister Zuri and lilttle brother nicholas. They live in dallas; I mostly spent time doing chores taking care of my baby sister going running and spending time with my family. I also went to houston for a little but I didn’t do much.

At the moment this is my favorite song, also listeing to many latino genres like bachata and know how to dance to them. My cousins and friends make fun of me for listeing to old mexican rancherras; But growing up I would watch movies from mexico’s golden age of cinema from the 50’s with my dad, and these movies always had songs of the actors which were usally rancherras and I’ve just like this genre ever since which is very similar to mariachi but not quite.

I like exercising and I’ve been doing it for about 3 years. But I didn’t do it as intense as I do now. I go for a mile run as fast as I can (6:30 is my avarage.) Then I go to a park because, I cant afford a gym. I do 3 sets of 10 hanging legs raises, 3 sets of 30 push ups and 2 sets of 1 minute planks, then I do sprints for about 5 min. I say its going well because I have notice a difference in my physique and the things I am able to do. To keep progressing I am going to try to better my diet especially now that I sometimes cook for my family.

My name is Alvaro Andres Hernandez Vasquez my mom is from Honduras and my dad is from Mexico. They met in virginia and (as it was described to me) fell really in love with eachother so much so that they decided to have me not evening a year in the relation. They moved to minnesota where I was born in 2007. Around 2012 they had issues which led to them breaking up and I moved to texas with my hondurian family. In texas I had a significantly less comfortable life than I did in minnesota, I kept moving from palce to place to a new school and living with more than 7 people at a time in a small 2 bedroom apart usally. My sister and I kept moving from Texas to Minnesota and my mom had my lilttle brother and lilttle sister. 3 years ago I decided that it would be better to finish highschool at one school and since I have been at sping lake park doing well playing for the soccer team, joing some clubs aswell as joing the panther mentor program.
