What are some strategies that worked extremely well with your students?

3. What are your next steps with using fractions and this mathematical concept?

Teles-I taught the traditional way to find equivalent fractions. However, the fraction bars are a differentiation and therefore I slowly taught the students to use a sheet of paper to block off the whole, half, fourth, etc. to distinguish and isolate what each student needed to look at. I believe the entire fraction bar is busy and hard to concentrate on for 4th grade students, some can find their way through the forest, but the majority needed another method. Students were given this the first time and had NOT experienced much fraction instruction, but the second time after establishing an AIMs compendium and several practice sessions plus a clever chant about fractions, students experienced more success.

My students did not do as well as a expected. I think teaching them the old school style of finding equivalent fractions

works better than the fractions chart which was a little confusing for my students. My next steps is using a compendium

with my next module.
