- Limiting family size has been shown to lower the amount births per 1000 people there isn't much evidence showing an effect on a very large population.

People should be concerned about population growth primarily due to climate change. mankind has the ability to keep itself fed and taken care of (at least in the more civilized nations), but industrialism has its byproducts, and the more people, the more byproducts. energy and food production is the leading factor for climate change, and facilities need to increase production to meet increased demand caused by rising populations.

Another reason to care about population growth is that with a higher population, there are more chances for pandemics to break out and it’s easier for diseases to spread. A solution for this could be a one-child policy like China. We could move to new planets or underground/underwater and expand our population :)
