Not only because I’ve never written anything before, but also because it seems to me that later on, neither I nor anyone else will be interested in the unbosomings of a thirteen year old schoolgirl” this quote resonates with me because sometimes I feel like I will look back on a moment or something I’ve said and think about how stupid it will sound to older me or how insignificant it really was, but current me might think it’s a big deal. Something that surprises me is how happy she is even though she’s in danger and has to hide in the secret annex this is surprises me because I would expect her to be more on edge. This is shown when she moves to the secret annex on page 12 and 13.

Something that confuses me is why Mrs. Van Daan dislikes Anne and her family so much this can be found on page 32-34 where she yells at Anne. This confuses me because the Frank family has done nothing to her but be polite as possible.

A signpost that I have found in the text is again and again when she repeatedly talks about how she doesn’t feel heard and her rocky relationship with her mother this can be found on page 124 when she talks about how she does think her mother understands her.

One thing that confuses me is why the adults in the house argue with each other. Why do they argue so much when they need to rely on each other? This can be found on page 113 when Mrs van Daan doesn’t want to give up her fur coat.

A connection I can personally make with Anne is feeling misunderstood by my family and just having fights with my siblings. An example of this could be when Anne’s mother has a fit about Anne on page 38.
