I'd say that the general topic of the video is tonic immobility. The main point of this video is some quirks of octopuses (octopodes? octopi?). The detailed explanations are about how the octopus body works; copper-based blood, melanin ink, tentacles with high sensory capability, etc. There aren't any main points, per se, more of a collection of unrelated facts. In my opinion, the Play Dead video is closer to a report text than the Octopus 101 video. This is because the octopus video covers more specific characteristics of an octopus, while the play dead one covers tonic immobility in animals in a more general manner. To make Octopus 101 closer to a report text, I'd say start with more basic facts; classification, etymology, stuff like that.
