The demographic of students were similar so it helped to provide a safe space for them to share out. It helps to have an audience or community that is behind allowing the message to be conveyed. Students are given an opportunity to have a voice to discuss or share their personal experiences through art. Chapter 4 in EbD talked about personalized learning that is a higher executive skill for students to be able to share what is important to them. This was the primary focus of the lesson and the area that was being assessed making it more of a priority for them.
