Monotheistic beliefs meaning the belief in one God and the worship of one God only. Muslims believe that their God is the creator of everything and that God is all powerful. In other words, God made the world, the animals, and everything in our existence, and the lord has unlimited power.

 Another key belief would be the belief in angels and how they are messengers of God and send messages from God to us; one angel that is really recognized is the Angel Gabriel because of his divine revelation to the prophets. For further context, this all means that Angels take messages from God and help give us spiritual messages and warnings in what will happen to us.

The third key belief is the belief in the Holy books of God such as the bible; it is believed that God revealed these books to a number of his Messengers. For example, the Quran (given to Muhammad), the Torah (given to Moses), the Gospel (given to Jesus), the Psalms (given to David), and the Scrolls (given to Abraham). In other words, God had allowed these Prophets to see these special scriptures. Muslims also believe Muhammad was a Prophet and the final Messenger of God.

The fourth key belief would be the belief in Prophets or Messengers. Muslims believe that God picked special Prophets and Messengers to deliver the principles of mankind. Some examples of these prophets would be starting off with the first man, Adam, who is known as the first Prophet in Islamic belief. Other Prophets being Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Muslims believe that Muhammad is the last of Prophets, sent for all principles of humankind with the message of Islam.

The five pillars of Islamic faith conclude:

1. Shahada meaning profession of faith.

2. Salah meaning prayers on a daily basis.

3. Zakat meaning giving to charity.

4. Sawm meaning fasting from dawn to dusk.

5. Hajj meaning the pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca .

Similarity's:

Scared Text - The religion Islam has a scared text called the Qur'an just like how Christianity has the bible and Judaism has Torah

Monotheistic - Islam, Christianity, and Judaism all share the fact that they are monotheistic meaning they believe in only one god

Holy place - All three religions share a sacred city know as Jerusalem, located in the middle east, they as well all share the concept of pilgrimage

Differences:

Tolerance - In Islam the Quran (sacred text) protects Jews and Christians, meaning that they have no hate towards them or intolerance

Practices - In the religion of Islam, Muslims must pray five times a day, dawn, noon, and sunset, as well as fast in the holy month of Ramadan unlike Christianity and Judaism

Rituals - Islam has 5 important rituals know as the 5 pillars of Islam which is the basic directions for Muslims to follow in act of worship.

Zakat - alms giving

Sawm - Fasting during the Holy month of Ramadan

Hajj - Pilgrimage to the Holy city of Mecca

Islam's main religious figure is named Allah, he is known as the one and only God that Muslims believe in, for it is a monotheistic religion. Allah is the main religious figure because in their holy text, the Qu'ran, Allah is described to be what God described himself as in the Arabic language. Because of God describing himself as Allah, this word holds special meaning to Muslims because of the Arabic word being spoken by God himself.

Muhammad is also known to be an important religious figure because Muslims believe he was the final prophet that was sent by God to reveal their faith in mankind. From the Qu'ran it says that Muhammad continued to receive revelations from Allah for the rest of his life, and taught many Muslims though out the rest of his life that they should only follow Allah.

Before the Revolution, and the overthrow of the Shah, the government was secular, and the people wanted to live by the Muslim law, the Shah wanted to make the country not based on religion and wanted to make it modern like many other leading countries. The Iranian people then became very upset by the oil boom, and having to pay more for gas. On top of that, the wealth was unequally distributed amongst citizens.

These are the factors that drove these Islamic fundamentalist to overthrow the Shah, they chose to then have a priest who was a leader of protests to overthrow the previous Shah. This priest became the new leader of the country and he decided to install the Islamic democratic republic.

Life in Iran is now a lot more different with this new Islamic democratic republic. In Iran, the law is now solely based o the Qu'ran and have made life for both men and women completely different.
