In the book animal farm these is alot  about becoming free from humans. This was a poem I got from the story. It is part of a song that the animals made up, it is called The Beasts Of England.

Soon or late the day is coming,
Tyrant man shall be o'erthrown,
And the fruitful fields of England,
Shall be trod by beasts alone.

In the book Animal Farm many things are going on. The animals want to build a windmill so that it will do their work for them. Napoleon hates Snowball so much that he drives him out of power. He does this by letting wild reckless dog off of their leashes while a town meeting is going on. I asked people if they would drive a leader out of power if they did not agree with them. These were the results.
80% of people would drive the leader out
20% of people would not drive the leader out

No animal shall wear clothes
No animal shall sleep in a bed
No animal shall drink alcohol 
No animal shall kill a nother animal
All animals are equal

Now animals are not being treated equally and the rules are not being followed. Note this is all happening while Napoleon is in power and he is not doing anything about it.

There are times when nothing is happening in the book and then there is a huge twist. Napoleon gets him a human horse "Doctor" and then a truck comes to take him away. The animals soon find that the truck says Horse Slaughterrer on it. Boxer gets in the truck and is never seen again.

It is a little hard to read because of all of the symbolizim but I feel that the message is good. I think that the theme of this story is the failure of man to live up to their expectations.
The whole book is about the russain revolution and it shows how they abolished their laws and how much blood they lost. I would not recommend this book to my class.
