In this week's readings we learned how the media can take the smallest things and use them to create unnecessary drama to get in people's heads. This tweet shows Milwaukee Buck's player, Giannis Antetokounmpo's "disappointed" face after his teammate badly misses a shot as the Bucks fall behind during the game. His facial expression did not last long, but the media managed to capture a snapshot. This tweet alone can damage the moral of the Buck's team during this important playoff series, even though it was such a minuscule event that happens very often.

https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1301295858764324865?s=20

This week's article from bleacher report is a great example of Susmer's article and the rules of thinking and looking. This article talks about the NFL power rankings after the first week of games. Keep in mind, each team has only played one game so far. The authors talk about how the results of the games caused quite the "shake-up" in the rankings. They went on the re-rank every team and talk about them. I believe this article is defines the rule of thinking and how it can be improperly used. These authors are making all of these claims after just one game for each team. If they followed the rule of looking instead, they would mention how these teams have the entire season left, and that one early game does not entirely determine the season. However, because it's the media, the used the rule of thinking to bring more viewers in. Why? Because people want to read more enticing news rather than boring facts.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2908778-nfl-power-rankings-brs-expert-consensus-rank-for-every-team-entering-week-2

Considering that he belongs to one of the most famous families in the world, Rob does not seem to be fulfilling his potential as a well-known celebrity. However, compared to his sisters and step-sisters, it must be hard to stand out.

https://www.thetalko.com/20-lesser-known-facts-about-rob-the-forgotten-kardashian/

Keanu Reeves is a perfect example of the ordinary celebrity. He is a very talented actor, resulting in him becoming very famous and wealthy. However, he is a very normal guy. He acts, dresses and carries out his every day life as a normal dude. In this video, it even says he rides the subway! Most of the celebrities as famous and wealthy as him usually prefer a limo or a private jet. Supposedly, his normal nature is how he handles fame, almost downplaying and refusing it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib11tKoL0FI

This article is a fitting example of industry using celebrity to promote itself. As stated in the article, the Lakers have about 3 more seasons with Lebron, before he signs with a different team to potentially play with his son. The main focus of the article is how the Lakers (industry) will utilize Lebron James and Anthony Davis (celebrity) while they can to win more titles. Without one of the two, the Lakers will most likely not be a contender in the future NBA finals.

Lebron was the most highly touted player in high school, making shoe companies salivate over the thought of signing him. Before Lebron even stepped on an NBA court, he signed a $90 million deal with nike. In his iconic first NBA game where he filled up the stat sheet, Lebron is wearing Nikes. Throughout his career, Nike has benefited incredibly of Lebrons Nike shoes, which they are 17 of.

Companies like Nike, Under Armor, Adidas, and Puma are all trying to sign the players with the most potential. This is an example of industry using celebrity and vice versa. Especially with today's media exposure, these NBA draft prospects have a celebrity-like nature in them.

This bleacher report of Chad Ochocinco at the golf range is a great example of celebrities being ordinary. Gamson's work tells us that celerbties will try to maintain a sense of ordinariness to relate to their fans. As a famous athlete, many expect he wouldn't go to a public golf range, that he would go to some fancy private course. Chad playing golf at a public place makes him more ordinary and relatable. It also gives fans the opportunity to connect with him.
https://twitter.com/br_betting/status/1326954335436107776?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1326954335436107776%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fbleacherreport.com%2Fnfl

NBA star point guard Russel Westbrook is requesting a trade. One of his potential landing spots is the New York Knicks. This article talks about how the Knicks were weighing the idea of a blockbuster trade to land Westbrook. This is a great example of Turner's article on industry using celebrity. Turner claims that industries will use celebrties for their own benefit. This article is a great example of how these principles apply to the world of athlete celebrities. New York City is the considered the "Mecca" of basketball, but New York's team has not lived up to that name since maybe the 1990s. Landing a player like Westbrook would give their team the spark that it needs, and it would increase moral in New York, resulting in an increase in ticket sales.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2917877-russell-westbrook-trade-rumors-knicks-on-short-list-of-viable-landing-spots
