I am having a problem many of you will recognise. I am not able to get some basic technical information that has to come from an overworked colleague so that I can go ahead and do the plan. Wish me luck, I have just three days to get the information from her. I began the task 2 months ago! The Digital Schools roadmap is very good and I am getting ideas from the different resources.

i) discuss with responsible of all departments their needs
ii) analyse this info and list all needs and motivations
iii) make a list of what is available @ school including status of hardware-software-etc material (ask the ICT external person if any and if needed) Discuss also with the ICT supporting team of your school (we have such a team in Italian schools)
iv) make a proposal justifying always your choices from a didactic point of view
v) check the available budget
vi) re-arrange your proposal based on this budget . remember to put also deadlines to your plan and a monitoring procedure for it.
v) discuss your proposal (original and adjusted by budget) with your principal.

As i expected, it was an interesting training courses,. i have learned a lot about ICT administrator, how to complement them in our schools, beginning with higher wireless Network, to a safe data and connection. Moreover, having good Apps and new methodology than integrate the use of this new technologies in our schools. also when we talk about BYOD, i think we should have an open mind, and the most important thing that concern allowing access to all this technologies to all students.

Great course - I got so much out of it!
The reading materials are great. Found the Irish ones for school self evaluation and road map invaluable.
The course has helped focus my thoughts on ideas on projects my school needs to engage with. We are currently updating our ICT plan (e-Learning plan) so this course and it's contents will be used.
Best advice I can give : start small and think security first.

I think that the course was very interesting and the ideas to develop a development plan linked to new technologies have been many stimulants. I also believe that the reference framework for the development of the planning was simple but timely and would facilitate the drafting of the document because it is not very practical.

When writing an ACT Development Plan, we should not forget to alert and sensitize school principals (And, where possible, the Ministry of Education) for the importance of the work carried out in the schools by ICT coordinators (most of them, also teachers), which in most cases it consists of true "acts of engineering ", not being paid as such. This course was very interesting. I already applied some of the knowledge acquired here.I will go, more calmly, review some of the links that are available in it.

When writing a plan the most important thing is that its stakeholders are listened and have a chance to be involved in its elaboration. An online questionnaire can help at this stage.
Also, an investment in research and training, from the ICT coordinator and the team enrolled on building the plan, will keep the team up to date with the state of the art in embedding ICT in education. This course was really important in this matter. We expect other courses in this area!
