Commentary: Thoreau famously spent a period of his life living in seclusion on the banks of Walden Pond in the northern United States. Like Bach and Shostakovich, Thoreau helped to establish a new genre is his craft. Thoreau, along with other like Ralph Waldo Emerson, created the transcendentalist movement, now studied by millions of scholars and student across the world. While his exploration of new ideas in literature is certainly notable, it is the content of his writing that is most important in the context of the theme of the unknown. Thoreau wrote Walden to summarize his thoughts and experiences throughout the time he spent on the pond of the same name. Reading Walden gives a clear impression of Thoreau as a dynamic character, one who develops and alters himself thanks to the knowledge he obtains. It is clear, that after his experience on the pond, Thoreau has changed for the better: he is more introspective; he has come to realizations about the world. Thus, Thoreau’s decision to leave society and live in the unfamiliar wilderness led to his own personal improvement in a grand way.

I have observed that the process of making the COVID-19 vaccine has been difficult. Thesis-Exploring the unknown is something we should be willing to do. We can discover new things, further our information on what we know now, and get us out of our comfort zone.

Evidence- Socializing with new people 

Commentary- When Raegan got a job it forced her to be more open, socialize, and talk to people more. By having a job it made her have to talk to people in case they had questions or needed help finding something in the store. She also has to communicate with her coworkers and her boss.

Marco Polo, a merchant from Asia, traveled and established the Silk Road. This area had been plagued by dry deserts and bandits all along the path. Few would risk this adventure. By going from city to city, he circulated resources that may not have been achievable in that certain society. Establishing this new pathway through the unknown area created a new way of communication, trade, and travel for societies all around the Eastern part of the world.

Commentary: In my experience, getting injections or shots has always been quite scary. To me, a child, it was just unnecessary pain. It was scary as I had no idea what was going to happen to me afterwards. Personal Experience- 
Once graduating high school, you must venture off into the unknown realm of the real world, and experience life. We must exit our comfort zone, and see what the world holds for us, even if we don't know what that is going into it. I anticipate that per graduation, I will be set with obstacles. Diving into that, especially without knowing the outcome, can be scary. However, those experiences will only further my personal development. We will never have a direct answer of what life holds for us, and as draining and frightening as that sounds, it can be a beautiful thing. Experiencing life without knowing what comes next and willingly taking that unknown path can be very beneficial towards furthering your own, individualistic journey.
