This was horrific and the panic and the broken confidence of the people made it worse. Government also gave relief payments but it was not easy to get relief payments, people who wanted it had to go through a lot before getting their hands on the money. This also change the roles of men and women in the day, it was the first time when women made 25% of the work force. It also tells us about places that were open for women during that time. The Great Depression forced women to make changes on the way their houses operate.
