He is a very shy and insecure boy, and his parents do not really care much about him.
He is very smart at school, but he does not like to read out loud.
He is a flat character, because you do not really know anything about his past, his interests, his family, his feelings (other than he is afraid of reading out loud) and his thoughts. While following Niel in the movie, we also learn about Todd. In the beginnning of the movie we see Todd a lot, but later on, he is just in the background or not even in the picture.
In the end of the movie we see Todd get very emotional because of the firing of his teacher, who has helped Todd alot, and because of the blame of the dead of Niel on the teacher.
Todd is an dynamic character. As I wrote earlier, he was very quiet, shy and insecure in the beginning of the movie, but his teacher, John Keating, taught Todd alot in school and on the personal basis as well.
Wich causes Todd to riot against the school inspector and speak up his mind about the whole firing situation. So in the end, Todd gets confident and speaks up to his school inspector without a doubt, because he cares so much about his teacher and about his (at this time dead) roomate and friend, Niel, who committed suicide because his dad not allowing him to live out Niels dream.

Knox Overstreet falls in love with a girl, in the beginning of the movie: Dead Poets Society. He is driving a teacher to an afternoon party, and there he meets the girl: Chris.
He tries everything to tell Chris, that he loves her truly. But in the beginning, he only gets beaten up, by Chris other guy.
In the end, Knox even tries poetry and is inviting the girl to the theater.
I think she gets the idea in the end.

According to the movie he is a confused guy who can´t stand being alone. Pitts looks like a freak but the school uniform makes him fit with the other guys, although the teacher (Mr. Keating) still makes fun of his name. In the very end, the school decides to kick Mr. Keating; the class decides to stand up to pay respect, Pitts have no choice and stands up as well.

Richard Carmon is a flat character he is in the movie a few times. But we don’t get any background about his life before the school we just know his name, age and that he is good in school.

He has a bold spot on top of his head. He is wearing typical closing for a man in that time. He’s wearing a suit, most of the time. The only time he isn’t wearing a suit, is when his is sleeping. There he has a pajama.

Mr. Perry is a strict father. He is dominant and tries to control his son’s life. It’s not because he hates his son, he only want what’s good for him. In the end of the movie, he says to his son that he will go to Harvard and become a doctor. He also says he want his son to have the things he never had.

He is flat character, you don’t see him so much in the movie, maybe 4, 5 times, and you don’t hear a lot about him. The only thing we hear about him, is from his son, and it’s only shallow things like that he would never approve of him going to acting class. We don’t hear anything from Mr. Perry’s life and what he has gone through or why he turned out like the controlling dad he is.

He is also a static character; he doesn’t change throughout the movie. At some point, we almost are to believe that he would change. When his son played his act, we could almost believe that he will change and say yes to his son, about getting acting lesson. However, he do not change and remain stubborn.

But when we see his home, we see a big fancy house with lots of expensive thing inside, so they are well fared. 
His a well behaved boy in the eyes of his teachers at 16 years, and got lots of friends at school. Neil is a kind-hearted person whom everybody like and his in the top score of his class when it comes to his grades. 
Neil Perry dressing is the same as everybody around him, got the same uniform, the same haircut and same brown hair color as some of the boys. (Some scenes it was difficult to tell Neil and Todd apart, when Neil hadn’t sat his hair.) 
Neil is under of the pressure of his parent’s expectations for him to do great things and become a doctor. He really wants to please them, so he just sticks to the plans and dose as his dad tells him to. 
The he meets his teacher Mr. Keating whose way of behaving and teaching inspire Neil to make the most of his live. 
He starts the “Dead poet’s society” together with a group of his friends, in a try to test the waters to see if doing something not on his father’s plan, really can make him happy, and try do the things he really dreams of doing. Which is when he goes to an audition and gets the leading role in an act. He then falsifying his father's permission to participate, and perform behind his parent’s backs. 
When it’s found out by his father, the man orders him to drop acting and focus on his studies. But by talking to Mr. Keating, we hear that Neil is going to talk to his dad, but we don’t really know if he does. 
When his dad tells him that he can drop all acting, and sends him to military school, Neil kills himself. Couse not living the way he wants it not a life at all, and he dies deciding that this is his decision and not somebody else’s.
