طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ (Ibn Majah - 224)

To begin with, we are particularly familiar with this hadith right ? Yes, it explains that seeking knowledge is compulsory to us, Muslims. However, are we really aware of the values, morals , manners, ettiquettes, etc one must hold whenever we are learning ?

After reading Shaykh Hamza’s commentary where he points out this hidden gem and commented upon it, I realized that one of the keys to purifying the heart is to adorn oneself with good morals, characteristics, etiquettes, and manners.

Usrah really opens up my mind to another way of thinking that even a simplest thing matters. Through out the Usrah, specifically Usrah II, I believe my facilitator has been the most helpful one! We talked about so many things, shared our thoughts and learned from each others' point of view. Usrah of this second semester is indeed the best for me! Thankyou everyone !!!

In addition, I sincerely hope that all of us will try our best to practice every input we have gotten in our everyday life because without actions, it is hard to really express our understanding. Also, we must not take everything we learned for granted as it absolutely benefits us not only now, but in the future, as well as in the hereafter.

Because I lack of social skills, I always thought Usrah would just be nothing but sharing. However, Usrah in this semester was really something new.

This could be reflected on our meeting each Friday. Our facilitator really know how to create a new happy environemnt while still adding the Islamic values. I still remeber on our first day, our facilitator hold a game,which was a music box game to get to know each of the members better. It seemed simple but I realized this is the best way to recognize each member as after all, we ought to strengthen our bond between each of one of us.

Not to mention the knowledge I gained by the sharing session. As our facilitator alwlays come in better prepared, there were so many new things I learned be it about Akhlak, Ibadah and even Sirah of the prophet.

Last but not least, one thing I love about this semester's Usrah is that I manage to know and memorize "doa rabitah" which I have never heard of before the programme. One thing that I could suggest is, to avoid having a meeting of Usrah at the dining hall. Luckily my Usrah programme had a permanent venue, however for some others, the hold the meeting at the cafe instead. This could sometimes make it inappropriate to both who are attending the meeting and those who are coming to the dining hall to dine in. That's it.
