Life on earth is not the end - it is the start and the preparation for eternity.

God formed people with a longing for forever because they are created to live without end - either with God in heaven or without Him in hell.

Actions on earth carry weight because they decide eternal outcomes.

The book sets out three ways God views life

Life is a test.

God employs problems, delays, success and trials to shape and expose character.

Life is a trust.

Everything held - time, money, ability, relationships - is lent by God.

Each person must guard those gifts plus use them with wisdom.

Life is a short task.

Earth is not the final dwelling.

The true home is heaven, therefore attachment to earthly goods must stay light.

When a person keeps eternity in view, priorities shift.

Love, relationships besides God gain value - trends, possessions and short-lived troubles lose importance.
