At around 11:00 p.m. they left while hiking. Jake was behind a lot almost to a point where he couldn't see them. Jake had no flashlight so he couldn't see while trying to catch up to his friends. Jake trips and hits his head on a rock which knocks him out. Jake wakes up and starts freaking out he starts running and screaming, he couldn’t stop freaking out.

There has been a debate about whether animal testing is right or wrong. The thought of animal testing has come back alive with the shortage of livestock. Animal testing is ethical because it helps with saving human lives;, it is also helping save the lives of the animals; and, animals live a better life in the labs.

The graveyard was a very important place because that is where she goes to try to connect to her dead mother. On page 5 there is an example of her trying to connect to her mother. The quote is “ Can you please cross back over for just a little bit?” The reason I used that quote is because it shows her when she is most vulnerable. Maybe they started out the book like that because it represents the whole story. The cargo ship is also very important because she is very vulnerable and defenceless. A quote from the book showing this ¨...a sailor brought down some old biscuits for our breakfast. I picked out the worms and tossed them through the porthole, then gave the biscuits to Ruth.¨(pg 26). I think the deeper meaning of this is that even when she is vulnerable she still looks out for others. In conclusion the graveyard and cargo ship stood out the most to me because they impacted her the most.

Adolf Hitler and the nazis used it the most. They used it to tell the Germans that they were in the right. Which is possibly the best example of propaganda. This pathed the way for propaganda forever. Governments use propaganda all the time to spread fake ideas about "the other" by manipulating their citizens.

I can imagine being stuck in a little annex like that. I know I can get in really big trouble and have all of us end up in a concentration camp. But I can't help it. I need to help these poor people. I must not let anyone find out I am bringing them items. They also have kids who have dreams they can pursue. Everything about the annex seems so terrible eating once a day going to the restroom once a day and the worst of all they have to be quiet all day long until all the workers are gone. For now, until it gets worse I am going to help these families live through this terrible terrible time.
