Hey Bianca! Some few facts about me are I am the youngest of 5, disney/scary/old classic movies are my favorites, I have a cat named Nala that I adore, I work at In N Out and I've been going to Vista High since I was a freshman. Do you plan on staying at Vista High for all of your 4 years ? I will be helping you read the book Speak which I believe we can both relate too since it's about a girl and her freshmen year! From the first page, I already enjoyed reading the book since the main character Melinda is an outcast which I adore. What interested you when you first starting reading or if not, what didn't you like?

I think it affects her because high school is a much bigger thing, and I'm guessing she must feel alone. I think that if Melinda had her old friends back she would be more into high school because she would have friends and people to talk to. What do you think?

Yeah that's good. I would say it'd change her whole character in the book and she wouldn't be an outsider and the plot would be different as well. A story being told in the first person is powerful, it helps the reader get more of a bond with the author and the book. How does reading Speak through the eyes of Melinda help you understand the book better and know more of the main character, Melinda, better?

Yes exactly. Viewing the story through her eyes helps us understand more of her as a character and what she is going through. High school is portrayed in different ways in movies, books..etc. For example, the movie High School Musical portrays high school as fun and well musical lol. Do you think in this book, Speak, high school is portrayed more in real sense like how Vista High is or more exaggerated?

I thought i would get further into the book but we didn't really have time to read in class. I think the book speak is a really good book because its just explaining High School and i think its something interesting to be reading about someone else's experience
