Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) established on 1993 was a well-known university that have notable achievements. Located at Batu Pahat, Johor,Malaysia. The university enrolment was around 15,344 pupils. The university motto was “With Wisdom We Explore. UTHM was formerly known as Institut Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (ITTHO) and Kolej Universiti Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (KUiTTHO). Along with other public university colleges, KUiTTHO was promoted to full university status since year 2007. The programmed offer by the university consisted of full-time programmed and part-time programmed. The programmed offer was Diploma, Degree programs and Postgraduate programs.

A good attitude will always harvest in a good achievement. However, attitude sometime related with discipline of the person within themselves. Thus, to keep on improving the institutions and to produce graduates that can compete excellently at the global market, it is necessary to keep monitoring the students in term of their competency within skill, knowledge and otherworldly matter. In UTHM, the programmed offer by the university was accredited by Malaysia Qualification Agency and to make sure the program of each certificate achieving the standard of the university. The students must comply with the skill and knowledge that they have learn. This include their academics performance and curriculum contributions. This is the part that most student have to performed well and their attitude play an important role in determine their performance during this period. 

When students have a better attitude towards the academic, hence there will be increment in the academic results. Besides, there will be positive bonds between lecturers and students, where the class become supportive spaces in which students can engage in academically and socially productive way. Other than that, lecturers can communicate effectively with the students by giving them appropriate and helpful feedback in accordance with their studies.

Students with a positive attitude will eventually raise the University reputation. And parents would feel welcomed and engaged with the University as they found out that students are more engaged and on task, and the classrooms are manages well as students respect the lecturer and get along with each other. Furthermore, the graduation rate have increased and the number of students applying into this University also increased. 

1) To investigate the number of hours UTHM students spend time on
     revision.

2) To find the reasons among UTHM students of not being prepared
     well for examination.

3) To suggest ways for UTHM students to perform well in academic.

As students, it has been a trend to enter class late with excuses such as waking up late, missing bus, did not know the location of class and so on. If the subjects are too bored to concentrate students tend to day dream, playing games using their gadgets, scrolling social medias, talks to friends while lecture is going on which leads them to pay less attention in the class, does not understand what is the lecturer is teaching and feeling overwhelm when the topic becomes more complex.

2.Attitude Towards Studies and Assignments

Another common thing in a student’s life is the procrastinate habit which is  doing more pleasurable things in place of less pleasurable ones, or carrying out less urgent tasks instead of more urgent ones, thus putting off impending tasks to a later time where they end up copying the answer of the assignment from others or friends. There are some students who do not put in any effort to understand the study or assignments which causes them to not hand in the assignment on time. Some of them might have the mind-set of not being serious towards their studies which leads them to not to ask lecturer about the thing they do not understand.

 

Most of the students change their attitude as they go out of campus because they are free to do anything. Spending more time in restaurants, shopping malls, cinemas especially where there is strong influences from their friends. Playing online games are one of the activities among students such as DOTA, FIFA online and so on. Some of them might have doubt on their studies but they have no transport to come back to campus especially when one is using bus provided by UTHM which have schedule’s to be followed. Due to this and other factors such as weather, tired of waiting for bus service, some of them prefer being at home. Some of them might also face internet facilities problem as they have to arrange this facility by themselves.
