         <description><![CDATA[<p>12/9</p><p><br/></p><p>In RE we looked at how we can represent Genesis 1 in the Bible through art. We focused on the Christian and artist Hannah Dunnet by creating a piece of art which used Bible scriptures in the art piece. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>22nd September - Creation and Science</p><p>We started by clarifying conflicting and complementary. We watched a clip to begin to understand what the '<em>Big Bang Theory' </em>was. We started to look at how some people believe the world and everything in it was created by God, how some may believe it is science related and everything started from a small dot that expanded in less than a second and how come believe that both science and religion have played their part. </p><p><br></p><p>The class then began to research different scientists, who have different worldviews and started to learn about the science aspects that lead their lives.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>6th October - Creation and Science </p><p>In today's lesson we looked at how different Christians can interpret Genesis 1 and have differing views in relation to religion and scientific theories. </p><p><br></p><p>We then looked at a line of continuum, putting statements where we feel they best fit, giving some reasoning. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>13th October 2025 </p><p>Today we brought together all of our learning and considered the question, '<em>Is Science and Genesis conflicting or complementary?' </em></p><p><br></p><p>Children used our learning slides from the topic to help bring their arguments together. We then discussed this as a class, sharing our ideas and views.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>6th January 2026 - Introduction to our topic. </p><p><br/></p><p>We started by reviewing our learning about the celebrations <strong>Bar Mitzvah </strong>and <strong>Bat Mitzvah</strong>, which was covered in Year 4. </p><p><br/></p><p>We were shocked to learn that only 0.5% of the UK's population follow Judaism. We then looked at our more local areas to find out the percentages of people who were Jewish. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>16th January 2026 - Judaism Day</p><p>Year 5 have been learning more about Judaism and their traditions, including a traditional Jewish home and what might be found there, we also compared this to our own homes. We created our own dreidel and learnt a little about Hannukah, which is an important Jewish festival.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Today's question: why are there different types of synagogue in the UK?</p><p><br></p><p>Today we explored the question above by finding the answers to a range of questions.</p><p><br></p><p>We had a research session for each type of synagogue before creating a class mindmap. We then went on to work in partnership to make direct comparisons and highlight the similarities and differences between orthodox and progressive synagogues. </p><p><br/></p><p>We concluded that the UK has different types of synagogues to cater for the needs of all Jewish people. </p>]]></description>
