I felt confident with what I knew, but I had doubts about using technology that I had yet to experience. My Digital Literacy General Capability survey proved my concerns as a significant percentage of my results were beginner to foundational knowledge and experience. During the unit however, I engaged with several resources that I had no previous experience and I found how useful and engaging technology can be in an educational setting.

I felt frustration towards the nuances of several resources I used, and at times found it difficult to continue. However, I gave myself smaller goals to persevere towards and along my digital learning journey I embraced ICT further and have found excitement using it, and often think about how I could implement technology into my future studies and classrooms.

For example, studying the SAMR model and visualising how I could use it in learning situations help me to realise the limitations of education without technological involvement. I do feel I need to engage with differing technologies more or with specific tools further. For example, using Canva throughout this unit made me realise how little I know about the platform and the potential it has in the classroom.

I spent the initial part of this unit not engaging with new tools and I felt underequipped. When I chose to engage more I developed a better understanding of ICT and I found that the hardest part was starting, but I can always learn by doing and experiencing things myself. I am most proud of overcoming my trepidation towards ICT and it becoming a source of joy for myself

Having a mindset that embraces expanding your digital experiences, and adopting technology and using it to benefit yourself and others around you will give you the capability to face future technologies with confidence.

If I was to redo my learning, I would have engaged with a further variety of ICT. My lack of confidence in the beginning steered me towards familiarity instead of embracing new experiences.
