Nora: She has power over her husband because she can control him. Other characters such as Mrs. Linde and Torvald think that she does not have any type of power. On the other hand, Krogstad recognises her influence over her husband. Also, Nora knows that she can control Dr. Rank as he reveals his admiration for her.

Mrs Linde: She is powerful in the sense that she is free from any type of men´s control, this means that she does not have anyone to tell her what is wrong and therefore she is free. She has the ability to decide by herself.

Krogstad: At a social level and status, he has not as much power as other characters. He will do whatever it takes to obtain some influence. At a certain moment, he had control over Nora. 

Appearances: Some characters hide the real influence that they have over others. For instance, Nora´s control over Torvald.

Nora: She speaks softly to her husband in order to manipulate him, and do what she likes.

Mrs. Linde: She speaks with superiority, boasting about her independence and her problems, which she thinks are worse than Nora´s.

Krogstad: Using his law knowledge and its terminology persuades Nora to help him with his problem.

In the last scene Nora slams the door.

When Torvald was teaching Nora how to dance, he gives her instructions but she does not seem to hear them.

Mrs. Linde: “Listen to me, Nora. You are still very like a child in many things, and I am older than you in many ways and have a little more experience” (Page 36)

Mrs Linde: No, a wife cannot borrow without her husband´s consent” (Page 14)

Nora: “Torvald had forbidden them (macaroons). I must tell you that he is afraid they will spoil my tooth. But bah! “ (page 20)

Nora: “Sometimes one has a tiny of influence, should I hope. Because one is a woman does not necessarily follow that-. When anyone is in a subordinate position, Mr. Krogstad, they should really be careful to avoid offending anyone (who has influence)” (Page 24)

Nora: “Be nice now, Doctor Rank, and tomorrow you will see how beautiful I shall dance” (Page 44)

Nora: “It is no use forbidding me anything any longer. I will take with me what belongs to myself” (Page 75)

Nora: Its´s perfectly glorious  to think that we have- Torvald has so much power over so many people. (Pages 19-20)

Rank: “Well, at all events you know now that you can command me , body and soul. (…) (Page 46)

Krogstad: “I must try and win back respect as I can in the town.” (Page 25)

Helmer: “My little songbird must never do that again. A song bird must have a clean beak to chirp with- no false notes!” (Page 30)
