He noticed how the sad and grim they looked. Sonny was walking with Quientin and a girl asked if they were going to the dance and she wondered if they were going. They were so surprised becasue nothing like that had ever happened to them before. Valentine who had always had a little thing for Sonny asked if he could walk her to class, of course he agreed. Valentine's ex was not happy to see Sonny but Valentine showed him. Sonny's crush Dorthy asked if he could come over and help her with some plane geometry. Of course Sonny agreed, at Dorthy's house he tried making some romantic moves on her such as a kiss but never quite sucsedes. After he is done teaching Dorthy he realizes hoe cool plane geometry is says that is a gift God becasue it can help him with his rockets. So he goes to Reverend Richard where he gives him some advice. He told him not to take the credit. They develop a way to launch rockets from a far with a car battery. One day Sonny gets called to Mr. Van Dykes's office. He says that he knows the BCMA stole telephone equipment and they could serve jail time  but he settles and says they have to pay back the money which adds up to 37 dollars. Now the BCMA has to find a way to get 37 dollars without there parents knowing. Later on Sonny had chemistry class taught by Miss Riley, Sonny loved the way she taught. Making everything so intersting for him. That day they do an expeariment and use  potassium chlorate and sugar combine, it creates a bright green flame. Homer and the other members of the BCMA realize that they could use these chemicals as rocket fuel. Sonny asks Miss Riley for the extra potassium chlorate but says she can't it is do dangoures and needs ot for other classes. She asks him agian if he going to enter in the science fair he says the BCMA just isnt ready yet. The BCMA gets a new member named Billy, who his mom takes under her wings and gives him some clothes. The BCMA proceeds with its Auks. Auk X uses the new fuel saltpeter and sugar but it doesn’t launch because the fuel, which the group dubs “rock candy,” is packed in too tightly. Auk XI fairs better, but the fuel gets “clogged” at the nozzle, meaning that there’s no net propulsion. Sherman proposes a dangerous tactic: melt the rock candy slightly before packing it into the rocket shaft. Homer is reluctant to do so, since this could mean blowing himself up.
