Do you guys feel there is a reason America is in a haste to ban tiktok compared to handling situations with other companies that take and sell personal information?

Why are people still using these apps if personal information is at risk of getting revealed?

Is the misinformation from Meta and Ring due to biases and opinions from the government or the awareness social media brings to the propaganda?

Take Meta for example, how can people be sure that companies won’t escalate in gathering your personal data? Companies are able to ignore laws.

You mentioned how the fear of being under surveillance can lead to people being paranoid. Do you think this paranoia can lead to people not using social media platforms and how can this fear and decrease in the usage of these platforms lead to the government having less control over society?

You mentioned how social media companies often allow for the spread of misinformation and thus invoke conflicts within society, however, wouldn’t it be the fault of the individual for posting and believing such misinformation in the first place? Why is it the company’s fault for spreading such content, when their platforms are based on user engagement? Companies cannot fully filter out media without the question of freedom of speech coming into play.
