It was my first time ever and had no idea what to expect - but it turned out as an amazing experience! So many colors, colorful people and colorful vibes on one day. 
This picture hopefully transmits that Sensation (klick on it!!) I met a lot of lovely and super open people on that one day and had great conversations. :-) Remaining with very positive memories.

If something happened one day, the next day pretty much everyone knew about it. Despite that being surrounded by such a conservative society, this has influenced the way i thought of the LGBTI+ community and i had a very fixed view on it. Only when moving to Vienna i slowly started opening my eyes and my horizon a bit more - but still admitting it today, i was not the most opening and welcoming person back then in regards to this topic as everyone in my family avoided it at all times. 
Only when moving to Barcelona for the first time 8 years ago, i opened my eyes. On my 3rd day i ended up going to that crazy Carnival in Sitges not knowing where i was. I met a gay couple in Barcelona, from Peru and New Zealand, and we became best friends. They took great care of me as a young boy in my early 20s trying to make my way through BCN. Ever since that time, i returned to Vienna, then moved to Denmark, then Girona and then back to BCN 5 years ago, I am celebrating all communities and being united with all kind of people, no matter where they come from, no matter what sexual orientation, religious background, etc. - I think Barcelona is a great place for bringing us all together and that's what i love about the DSC. And this is what I will celebrate with all of you today!

You may think this is not late but for me it was. I probably knew i was gay around the age
of 15 however due to the society i was being brought up in, it forced me to hide my feelings and thoughts until it felt ok do so. 
I still felt scared to attend a pride event and eventually i went to my first  at Disney World when i was 27 where i was living at that time (2008)
Pride to me is being able to look back at the summary above and being proud of where i am today. How comfortable i am with myself today and making sure 
to advise those younger than myself not to hide or lead a double life as i did. It's OK to be who you are and learn from those who are different from yourself.
