         <description><![CDATA[<div>- 'The African nations were angry that a New Zealand All Blacks rugby team was touring apartheid-era South Africa' - ( Source A )<br><br>- In the year 1976, the All Blacks had toured in South Africa, playing rugby with their unjust, racist team. This caused outrage within the (black) African community as they threatened to boycott the Montreal Olympic Games. The IOC (International Olympic Committee)<br><br>- The world had fixed it's attention on South Africa after the 'Soweto riots, in which hundreds were killed as the authorities ruthlessly suppressed protests.' The rugby tour was 'considered intolerable to many New Zealanders' and was also condemned internationally, hence the boycott. - ( Source D )<br><br>- The African nations were angry after demanding "the international Olympic Committee to exclude New Zealand from the 1976 Montreal games" with their refusal to ban they responded with the boycott (source H)<br><br></div>]]></description>

However because of the media attention on the apartheid laws that was dictating South Africa, 28 countries found it offensive and unacceptable to allow New Zealand to compete in the 1976 Olympic games in Montreal.          <description><![CDATA[<div>-In 1976 26 African and 2 other countries boycotted the Montreal Olympic games, due to New Zealand rugby union agreeing to do a tour in South Africa which had an apartheid government at the time (the situation was particularly tense after the murders during protests). New Zealand still proceeded with a lot of opposing beliefs from other countries. </div>]]></description>
