Who was Involved?

The Srebenica massacre occurred in a time of confusion as many people were demanding so much from each other. Bosnian Serbs were beginning to question their role in Bosnia, so they started to demand independence to make a better union which they called "Greater Serbia". Which was overall granted as the Bosnian government swept the problem under the carpet. "Greater Serbia" began to act as a stronger and more brutal force. Bosnian Serbs began their lead way into other countries such as Zvornik, Foca, and Visegrad. Eventually, the Croatian Army got involved and tried to put a stump in the Bosnian Serbs plans, but the Croatian were overpowered by the Bosnian Serb's power. As Bosnian Serbs went further and had made over three-fourths Bosnia under their control. The UN (united nations) in this situation had to start getting involved in the protection of Bosnia. The UN started sending Dutch Soldiers to the remaining countries of Bosnia to aid in the protection against the Bosnian Serbs.

As the Bosnian Serbs went forward towards the last parts of the Bosnian countries. The UN declares Srebrenica, Zepa and Gorazde a safe haven and disarms the countries from every line of defense they had held except for the Dutch Soldiers the UN had already sent. However, when the Bosnian Serbs got to the borders of the Srebenica, the Dutch Soldiers were overtaken as the Bosnian Serbs captured them and forced them to hand over their defense and leave. In the end it Dutch Soldiers left and the Bosnian Serbs invaded. With their invasion came the rape of many women and the killing of more than 8000 people. This was eventually declared by the UN this incident as a enocide.

Backtracking to the overall genocide of the Srebrenica people. This attack on this country was due to the Bosnian Serbs growing power granted to them from the lack of attention from the Bosnian government. With the overall contentions of the Bosnian Serbs believing that "Greater Serbia" was the only nation needing to be around made their ethnic cleanse a brutal force in the destruction of the Srebrenica people and the invasion against the rest of Bosnia. This was not helped with lacking of power against the Bosnia Serbs. Since the UN had made Srebencia a safe haven, which made them so much more vulnerable to any attack. Also, the dutch soldiers not being as armed as they could-had made the Srebrenica people having a snowballs chance in hell.

In the end, this whole Genocide changed the country and somewhat changed how the UN works. However, first thing is first. This genocide was named one of worst mass killing in Europe since World War II. Second, Serb soldiers were incriminated for listing deporting specific people as they actually killed them. Third, negotiations were made with the Bosnian Serbs to end their rein over Bosnia, which overall worked. Fourth, Bosnia was split into the Croat-Bosnia and Serb Republic which is working. Lastly, everything has succeeded, however, the country of Bosnia is still finding dead bodies and categorizing them and re burying them.
