Very personal information should never be shared and that is part of basic internet safety. I do believe that as long as you have basic knowledge of how to keep yourself safe online, it's fine to share things like names or nicknames, age, and the like, as people nowadays do use those kind of information to find their spaces especially on platforms like Twitter, but there's a difference on the personal info that's relatively safe to share and personal info that can be documented and used against you (for example, your location, or documents that you shouldn't even be sharing).

Choices related to school regulations and policies have a direct impact on students' everyday lives and learning environments, they need to be a subject to a vote. Giving students a say promotes citizenship, accountability, and critical thinking. Additionally, it fosters a more polite and inclusive learning environment where each viewpoint is respected and acknowledged. The opinions of the learners ensures that regulations are fair and appropriate, even though adults may arrive at decisions. Greater connections among the school community and better attendance can result from involving the students themselves in the process.

"Should homework be banned or limited in school?"

In my opinion, I believe that homework should be limited in school. Why? Students are usually burnt out coming home from school; thus, with pending homework/activities due the next day, student would most likely stay up late, finishing their works—affecting their sleeping schedule. At most, students spend more time in school, than at home—awake. Homework would drain a students mental, and physical state—but it still depends on how hard the task is, or how many there are. Though, this does not apply to performance tasks, or major tasks that are required to do.

Not to say that homework should be banned, but should be limited. If students would want to go back onto a topic, or practice their skills upon the topic, they are able to search practices on the internet. But, it is still good to sometimes give out homework in order for the student to learn properly, and master their skills—but not to a point where there are so much tasks to do that it would affect a student's personal life.

No! The digital world is constantly evolving; we have modern technology and advanced online platforms for everyone, including predators. In my opinion, teens are the easiest targets for predators online, as kids are supervised, old people don't engage as much, and adults know better, while teenagers are very hormonal, experienced about the internet like adults, but are still vulnerable and sometimes gullible like children. Teenagers are very curious people, we make friends online, play games with strangers, and look for whatever we can online to entertain ourselves. So much so that sometimes we stumble onto things we should and accidentally share too much. A predator can be anyone, whether it be a person on omegle, a random person we follow on instagram, or even a person you play games with on discord. Teens are not young adults, rather, maturing children, we still have more to learn so we should be careful of what we say online. Whether they be pictures, words, or videos.

No because, it’s also for their communication. Let’s say a family emergency might happen and the student won’t be able to be informed. Smartphones are also useful for educational purposes, like searching for information or using learning apps. They can help students stay updated, organized, and connected during school hours.

Balancing School, and Work (Life)

In my opinion, it is best to allow students to be able to work part-time jobs in order to make money.

Sometimes, when a student's family struggles financially, and are not able to pay rent/dues—like school tuition, water bill, electricity, or even rent—dyan dadaan ng paghihirap, and possible downfall of the student, and their family. At times, the student would have a decision: to work to help their family, to stay in school as long as they are able to financially pay the school tuition, or juggle both work, and school. Allowing the student to work in order to make money, help the family, and be less of a hassle at home would be very appreciated.

But, it is important to remember to balance properly your time—time management. If you ever see a great impact—in a bad way—of how much it affects a student's academic performance, it is best to stop them from working, since studying would help reach greater heights. If hindi kaya talaga, let the student aim to earn scholarships in order to learn, and help the family.

Should high school students have a say in determing the consequences for breaking school rules?

Yes, as catholic high school student, we're the ones who experience the impact of these rules and consequences every day, so our perspective is crucial. the consequences may be viewed as fairer and more relevant, promoting a more positive school culture. We're taught the importance of justice and understanding, which should extend to school discipline. The consequences can reflect a more restorative approach, focusing on learning and personal growth, aligning with catholic values of compassion and redemption. This also creates a more inclusive environment where we feel heard and respected, fostering a stronger sense of community and responsibility.
