According to this idea, racism is a societal construct that is rooted in legal frameworks and policies rather than being the result of personal prejudice. Many states are currently banning this theory because some individuals insist that this theory is discriminating white people in order to achieve fairness. "As with CRT in general, its popular representation in schools has been far less nuanced. Title VI of the civil rights act prohibits discrimination on the basis of race and color. This law allows for discrimination to disappear in environments like school and or the workplace. Board, the Supreme Court found unanimously that racial segregation of students in public schools violated the Constitution. Forty-two percent own their own homes, a figure that rises to 75 percent if we look just at black married couples. Black two-parent families earn only 13 percent less than those who are white. Almost a third of the black population lives in suburbia." (Black Progress: How far we've come, and how far we have to go) This statistic allows for outsiders to look at how much progress African Americans have made. The schooling system to has made significant improvements decreasing drop out rates which can play a role in how people have their own bias towards African Americans.
