'Her throat full of aching, grieving beauty told only of her unexpected joy.'&nbsp; (This highlights her tone and the overwhelming sense of joy she is experiencing)'<br><br>Juxtaposition of Gatsby and Daisy's values.<br>Nick points out that to Gatsby <br>with " [Daisy's] actual and astounding presence none of [his possessions were] any longer real.<br>While on the other hand, Daisy seems to be lost/ enraptured in the wealth she is surrounded by.<br><strong><br>ANALYSIS: "in the big panic - the panic of the war" </strong><br><br>When Nick questions whether Gatsby inherited his money or not in a confused way, Gatsby replies:<br>" I did, old sport", automatically. This shows that he is so used to misleading people with false information about himself that has now become an automated response. This is further proved when Gatsby adds: "but i lost most of it in the big panic - the panic of the war". The hyphen within this sentence show him stuttering ultimately proving he's lying.&nbsp;<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>the descriptions here aren't just limited to colour, the choice use of words like "apple green" and "lavender" instead of just green and purple makes the scene appear more alive and magical in our minds. the descriptive words used makes us associate the shirts with other things of splendor and beauty, creating a sensation of an even heavier sadness regarding Daisy and Gatsby's separation in comparison with the riches and extraordinary experiences of Gatsby's past five years alone. and the repeated use of the word "and" makes the entire scene seem even more overwhelming, amplifying the nostalgia between the two and their unspoken regret.<br>&nbsp;- Judy</div>]]></description>

This aligns with his objective of wooing Daisy with his self-made success.<br><br><strong>"That's my affair" </strong>The short terse dialogue expresses Gatsby's natural defensiveness in regards to the acquisition of his wealth. However, following this it is shown that Gatsby then <strong>"realized that it wasn't an appropriate reply"</strong> showing that after some thought, Gatsby remembers his decorum and appearance of manners as well as the fact that he can likely trust Nick based on the merit of his actions thus far.</div>]]></description>
